I had dreams of money, but with Goggle AdSense, that might not be the case....

Making Money is Your Business... and Google AdSense is a Business as well

When a would be publisher applies to the Google AdSense Affiliate Program there seems to be one thing which they do not count upon. You can be denied by The AdSense affiliate program, as in for whatever reason there is, and it is a valid reason from Google, you can be denied.

People want to make money and they figure Google AdSense is the best way to do it... that is until their application is denied. Then, they will often run screaming to forums complaining that their AdSense application was denied-- to them for some unknown reason. There is a reason, but they often don't really like the reason they were given.

The truth? You can get accepted into the Google AdSense program with reasonable ease: as a publisher you must understand the terms of Service set out by the company. This is the three or four page contract which you should read before you hit the button "I accept" All too often, when you are denied it is because of not reading rules.

There are many reasons why you were denied by the many affiliate programs out there, but it boils down to about three things that make a denial from the Google AdSense program a possibility. The content of your websites, (all of them) not reading the TOS AdSense sets out, and also giving the company incorrect information- such as your email address or website. We all want money, but you do have to be careful, you are running a business after all.

In this case, there is some work you need to do with Google to get your AdSense account.

A Few Points About The Google AdSense Affiliate Program

I'll begin with hubpages, and what you need to do from here. You can read their FAQs to find out a bit of the steps involved in getting an account. In this case, you will need to make sure you follow it step by step and create a hub which people are already writing comments on.

If you have an account already congratulations, go to your affiliate settings on hubpages, and follow the instructions from there. This is your business, so plan to put that AdSense code in as soon as your get the publishers code.

If you don't have an AdSense account it's a bit more complex, but it seems to follow this pattern:expect to receive some email in regard to your application status to take about a week, try to have at least one high quality hub up so that you have some content that they can look at. Now, some people have said it takes about an hour to be approved, but that is if you have other accounts, such as a blogger account, and have content. Either way expect about a week before getting too excited.

Now Google AdSense will ask you for tons of information, your name address and email, which they will contact you with. Fill it out, all of it, even if you never use your middle name, fill that out as well. Address and all that other good stuff, and make sure your email is one you use, on a regular basis.

They will ask for a website, you need to fill this out as well. If it's for hubpages, follow hubpages instructions to the letter. If you do not follow these simple instructions your application will be denied. If you aren't and if you've read the contract you know that this is ground for Google to terminate your account.

Next step, they will give you terms and conditions, Read this Terms of Service very carefully noting what is and is not allowed on your websites, in fact reread it after you've been approved. This tells you the dos and don'ts. Check the box that you agree once you've filled out all this information.

Then wait.

Two things will happen you will either get a yes or a no. Here are the reasons why you get a no, and how and most important if you can fix it.

Why Was I Denied By AdSense?

One that seems to get most people is an email address: I have all of my google AdSense and its affiliates on one account. In other words, my blog, and my hubs and anything else I might have are all found on the same email address. If you want to have another email address it can cause problems if you have your various pieces of work on different email addresses.

By this I mean if your hubpages account is on "x" email address and you want your Google AdSense account to be on "Y" you might have problems. This isn't a big issue, really but it might get your application denied. This may look as if you might potentially have more than one account, or that you simply have not read the Terms of Service for AdSense. The TOS is very clear about what you can and can not do.

The simple way to fix this is to contact google with the email that you used to apply for the account and find out what you can do, sometimes it's as simple as verifying your email. Your written content, and photos are also important as they can make or break your application. By this it means no duplicate content, or anything that will be against their terms of service. Most of these things are clear.

Do not Get Denied By AdSense

There is one thing that will however get you denied, and/or removed from AdSense, and that is clicking on AdSense ads on any of your sites. Any of your sites. This means: Your hubs, your website, your blog whatever. Yes I know that there are those who will argue that they have a networked house, but it still is held as a rule. Click on your ads on your site and you will be denied, or lose your account.

So don't click on ads on your hubs or your website or whatever.

This one is a basic there is no help for you at that point, unless you can prove it was an accident, and that is very very rare. So don't click on your ads. Don't tell/suggest/whatever to get someone else to do it either. Just Don't.

Google AdSense also has a few other rules that can lead to your denial of an application, in this case it is saying that I own this site and you don't. If you can't prove it, they will say no. Same goes for an email, if you can't verify your email address you might be denied.

Why Me? I Need Money... But I Got Denied By AdSense

Google might deny you from its AdSense program should they suspect that you've done past click fraud. Now before you laugh think of it this way, if you click on some one's ads and then tell them that you've done it, it's on your IP address, which, by the way, you need to prove you are using it as your main IP address for your Google AdSense information.

This fact is critical when it comes to publishing a hub, the quality of the content might be great, but if you have a "record" of doing things on say, hubpages, AdSense does take this into account when seeing if you are a quality candidate. There is also the fact that some countries seem to have higher rates of "click fraud" than others. Which is why some take as much as 6 months of spotless activity on their record to get an AdSense account.

Google wants a publisher who can prove beyond a doubt that they publish quality original content that will stand the test of time, and will be updated and useful for years to come.

I know, you're probably thinking well why should I bother?

Because Google AdSense, does make people money, not a lot but the Google AdSense program never promised that you would make a lot of money. This is a business, and to make money you have to think like a business. Google AdWords is the reason why you make money with AdSense, so there is a cycle which we need to be aware of.

There is another small way you might be denied. this one might seem silly but Google themselves say you can't, and your application will be denied. Only one AdSense account per address per person. So, if you want to apply for an account it will be for you hubs, for your blog, for your website, for all of your online work.

So, if you've forgot your password, ask for it, as a second account is denied, even if you argument is that one is personal and one is business. It doesn't matter really, the reality is that to google you are running a business which you need to report on your taxes.

Why Was I denied... I think maybe....

Quality Content is a Must

The last one is denied based on content, if you have a more "adult" site they will say no thank you to your application so even your keyword choice or photos will have something to do with it. If you don't have anything on your blog/ hub google will deny your application. You hubs should not be sun and not duplicated in any way (as in can be found on hubpages and your blog) but also, it is about 1,500 words long or is very informative in some way.

The simplest way to fix this is to write a hub that is of reasonable length, or have a few posts, or get a few pages on your website with some "writing" on it. Then you can try it again.

So, while it is a big deal when you are denied, it does happen and if you follow the emails google sends there might be a way to get your application approved... it just might take some time. If you're still wondering the easiest answer book out there is Google AdSense for dummies, and it's a pretty easy to read book.

Take your time and you will be approved, if you're not find out why it happened (usually in the email google sends you) and how this can be fixed. If you can fix it, be quick and nice about it, it will get you a better response.
