Get Accepted With/By Google AdSense, and How to/ Does One Avoid Things Which Will Get You Denied (In Hubpages/ "My"Blog)

Making Money is Your Business... and Google AdSense is a Business as well
When a would be publisher applies to the Google AdSense Affiliate Program there seems to be one thing which they do not count upon. You can be denied by The AdSense affiliate program. People want to make money and they figure Google AdSense is the fastest and best way to do it... that is until their application is rejected. Then, they will often run screaming to forums complaining that their AdSense application was rejected-- to them for some unknown reason.
The truth? You can get accepted into the Google AdSense program with some reasonable ease: as a publisher you must understand the terms of Service set out by AdSense. This is the three or four page contract which you should read before you hit the button "I accept" All too often, when you are denied it is because of not reading rules. When this happens you ask why?
There are many reasons why you were denied, but it boils down to about three things that make a denial from the Google AdSense program a possibility. It boils down to the website, a very basic understanding of the Google AdSense programs and reading the contract. I know we all want money, at some point, but you do have to be careful, you are running a business after all.
In this case, there is some work you need to do with Google to get your AdSense account.
A Few Point About The Google AdSense Affiliate Program
I'll begin with hubpages, and what you need to do from here. You can read their FAQs to find out a bit of the steps involved in getting an account. In this case, you will need to make sure you follow it step by step and create a hub which people are already writing comments on.
If you have an account already congratulations, go to your affiliate settings on hubpages, and follow the instructions from there. This is your business, so plan to put that AdSense code in as soon as your get the publishers code.
If you don't have an AdSense account it's a bit more complex, but it seems to follow this pattern:expect to receive some email in regard to your application status to take about a week, try to have at least one high quality hub up so that you have some content that they can look at. Now, some people have said it takes about an hour to be approved, but that is if you have other accounts, such as a blogger account, and have content. Either way expect about a week before getting too excited.
Now Google AdSense will ask you for tons of information, your name address and email, which they will contact you with. Fill it out, all of it, even if you never use your middle name, fill that out as well. Address and all that other good stuff, and make sure your email is one you use, on a regular basis.
They will ask for a website, you need to fill this out as well. If it's for hubpages, follow hubpages instructions to the letter. If you do not follow these simple instructions your application will be denied. If you aren't and if you've read the contract you know that this is ground for Google to terminate your account.
Next step, they will give you terms and conditions, Read this Terms of Service very carefully noting what is and is not allowed on your websites, in fact reread it after you've been approved. This tells you the dos and don'ts. Check the box that you agree once you've filled out all this information.
Then wait.
Two things will happen you will either get a yes or a no. Here are the reasons why you get a no, and how and most important if you can fix it.

Why Was I Denied By AdSense?
One that seems to get most people is an email address: I have all of my google AdSense and its affiliates on one account. In other words, my blog, and my hubs and anything else I might have are all found on the same email address. If you want to have another email address it can cause problems if you have your various pieces of work on different email addresses.
By this I mean if your hubpages account is on "x" email address and you want your Google AdSense account to be on "Y" you might have problems. This isn't a big issue, really but it might get your application denied.
The simple way to fix this is to contact google with the email that you used to apply for the account and find out what you can do, sometimes it's as simple as verifying your email.
Do not Get Denied By AdSense
There is one thing that will however get you denied, and/or removed from AdSense, and that is clicking on AdSense ads on any of your sites. Any of your sites. This means: Your hubs, your website, your blog whatever. Yes I know that there are those who will argue that they have a networked house, but it still is held as a rule. Click on your ads on your site and you will be denied, or lose your account.
So don't click on ads on your hubs or your website or whatever.
This one is a basic there is no help for you at that point, unless you can prove it was an accident, and that is very very rare. So don't click on your ads. Don't tell/suggest/whatever to get someone else to do it either. Just Don't.
Google AdSense also has a few other rules that can lead to your denial of an application, in this case it is saying that I own this site and you don't. If you can't prove it, they will say no. Same goes for an email, if you can't verify your email address you might be denied.
Why Me? I Need Money... But I Got Denied By AdSense
Google might deny you from its AdSense program should they suspect that you've done past click fraud. Now before you laugh think of it this way, if you click on some one's ads and then tell them that you've done it, it's on your IP address, which, by the way, you need to prove you are using it as your main IP address for your Google AdSense information.
This fact is critical when it comes to publishing a hub, the quality of the content might be great, but if you have a "record" of doing things on say, hubpages, AdSense does take this into account when seeing if you are a quality candidate. There is also the fact that some countries seem to have higher rates of "click fraud" than others. Which is why some take as much as 6 months of spotless activity on thier record to get an AdSense account.
Google wants a publisher who can prove beyond a doubt that they publish quality original content that will stand the test of time, and will be updated and useful for years to come.
I know, you're probably thinking well why should I bother?
Because Google AdSense, does make people money, not a lot but the Google AdSense program never promised that you would make a lot of money. This is a business, and to make money you have to think like a business. Google AdWords is the reason why you make money with AdSense, so there is a cycle which we need to be aware of.
There is another small way you might be denied. this one might seem silly but Google themselves say you can't, and your application will be denied. Only one AdSense account per address per person. So, if you want to apply for an account it will be for you hubs, for your blog, for your website, for all of your online work.
So, if you've forgot your password, ask for it, as a second account is denied, even if you argument is that one is personal and one is business. It doesn't matter really, the reality is that to google you are running a business which you need to report on your taxes.
Why Was I denied... I think maybe....
See results without votingQuality Content is a Must
The last one is denied based on content, if you have a more "adult" site they will say no. If you don't have anything on your blog/ hub google will deny your application. You hubs should not be sun and not duplicated in any way (as in can be found on hubpages and your blog) but also, it is about 1,500 words long or is very informative in some way.
The simplest way to fix this is to write a hub that is of reasonable length, or have a few posts, or get a few pages on your website with some "writing" on it. Then you can try it again.
So, while it is a big deal when you are denied, it does happen and if you follow the emails google sends there might be a way to get your application approved... it just might take some time. If you're still wondering the easiest answer book out there is Google AdSense for dummies, and it's a pretty easy to read book.
Take your time and you will be approved, if you're not find out why it happened (usually in the email google sends you) and how this can be fixed. If you can fix it, be quick and nice about it, it will get you a better response.

Rebecca,
Great hub! Good information and guidelines. Well done.
rebecca, i truly got afraid, that it won't be selected. Please tell me yes or no. If i read tos then i know i am not going to understand anything since i am new to this. My all contents are pure and not copied. You can check it on copyscape.com. Please kindly say, yes or no, to be selected by adsense.
This hub is even more helpful than any of your others that I have read thus far (which hasn't been that many). I'm glad you wrote this one in particular.
I am unfortunate about adsense so far, I just noted that there is a policy that site owners from India should wait at least 6 months to submit their site.

A lot of people's issues with Adsense results from ignorance, caused by not reading the terms and conditions. Everything is clearly explained in their T & Cs and just by making sure you know what is and isn't acceptable can stop a lot of heartbreak. One minor sort of correction is that you can have more than one adsense account, one for personal and one for business use. But to be honest most people only use the one. Great hub by the way which I am sure will have helped a lot of people.
Hello. Can you please help me I am planning to submit my site to google ad sense but I am am not sure if it is ready for submission. Can you please check my site
http://jobs-dot-com.blogspot.om I really need your advice.
Hi Rebecca E., I've heard that having multiple blogs for Google Adsense may cause spamming suspicions and thus people have more than one account. Is this true? If a person had 15 blogs or websites with quality content that wouldn't be a problem would it?
Also, I recommend someone who doesn't have a Google Adsense account to write 3 to 4 Hubs on a similar subject and then applying for the account. Or on a blog, posting about 10 to 15 quality posts and starting to build traffic before putting up ads.
Thanks for writing the Hub.
This hub proves that the way to register our hubs an websites and blogs for Google needs to be simplified more. Some people have said it is deliberately made hard for people to complete. You have to have real determination to get to the end of it. Pulling teeth would be easier. Great Hub, Rebecca!
nice and helpful article
Very helpful! Thanks!
Thanks once again. Very informative, helpful and a must read again.
Heather
Thank you for the suggestion. I have been denied once. Now I am planning to apply again.
I have applied and they (google) have acknowledged the applcation but I have heard nothing more from them. This was weeks ago! When I go to their site I get this trite little message about my account application having been accepted and that they will be back in touch with me with in 2-3 days!!!! Any idea what gives?
very intresting hub, thanks for the info rebecca, keep up the good work, love your hubs
Thanks for posting there are many different things to learn on this subject, im happy to have come across your information
Still the best way is to get a blog with Blogger, and monetize from there. However, if those people still resort to dishonest means, Google will still ban their account.
Thanks rebecca for the info..in my case i applied for adsense about 2 years back making a blog spot page and it was useless and was denied.. so o forgot about adsense all together untill i came here and applied again by making another Gmail and then they said i already has an account approved so i shd use that.. i was u know surprised, i had a google account for 2 years and didnt know it.. strange wasnt it.
Nice Thanks for the info! The following was sent to me by adsense. No really sure what to do at this point.
Hello,
Thank you for your interest in Google AdSense. After reviewing your
application, our specialists have found that it does not meet our program
criteria. Therefore, we are unable to accept you into our program.
We have certain policies in place that we believe will help ensure the
effectiveness of Google ads for our publishers as well as for our
advertisers. We review all publishers, and we reserve the right to decline
any application. As we grow, we may find that we are able to expand our
program to more web publishers with a wider variety of web content.
Please note that we may not be able to respond to inquiries regarding the
specific reasons for our decision. Thank you for your understanding.
Sincerely,
The Google AdSense Team
Not a big fan of Adsense unless you have a very high traffic website. That is the only way you will make the big money. But none the less you can still earn a few bucks with them. Your best bet are affiliate programs. Nice hub!
Rebecca, I agree with you 100%. Love K.
I can't seem to get eBay to put me in their little program & I have a store there! I don't understand the "different email" issue, but I think that is probably the deal with mine. Thanks for a really good article.
Dr. Marie
very good info, i only want to ad that even after your adsence is approved (my was approved right away, without any problems, maybe because i had 2 blogs already)
there are still more things to do before you can get paid (when you reach $100). Google needs to verify your tax id number, then bank account number, if it is going to be direct deposit, then pin number etc. So be patient and keep writing Love K.
I think we all have this love hate relationship with Google, fortunately my account was approved and I'm gaurding it with my life!
Wow! That was alot of information. Thank you, Rebecca, for taking the time... You have been thorough, as usual.
It took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out what lovebuglena put so very succinctly-you need the email. Thanks to you both!
Thanks Rebecca for the very informative hub. This info is very helpful for those of us that are relatively new at this computer publishing business.
I had trouble with amazon and eBay. Someone told me that you have to have had at least 10,000 hits on your site before you could be accepted by eBay. Amazon was that I put the wrong words or something the application. I finally got accepted by amazon....but I haven't been successful with it yet. I followed the step by step instructions in the help section for google.
Oops sorry long winded and information I am sure you already knew. Thanks for another informative article.
Tammy :-D
Thanks for the informative hub. I did not have a problem getting my Adsense account approved but wondered why other people were having problems. Now at least I have some idea as to why they could be declined.
I could not get on adsense. I was never denied, just could not finish out the registration. I tried for months, with lots of help from others. Every time I got to the end, it said. my email address was already in use....yeah, by me!!
very helpful, whew, thanks,kimberly
Thank you for another useful hub.
I think I'm confused........... need to sleep, but I'll be stopping by tomorrow!
:-)
The key to signing up to use google adsense with hubpages is to use the link that is provided in the email that is sent by google adsense after you click to sign-up to google adsense directly from hubpages. Signing up to google adsense (to use with hubpages) directly from adsense.com will not work and application will be denied and you'll be asked to give proof of domain ownership. That is what happened to me.
