Amazon Affiliate Program Payout: Make Money, Earnings as a Seller With Amazon Associates, Know What IS Offers Fast
85Amazon Affiliate Programs
The amazon affiliate program is not complex, but it is somewhat harder to work with than Google AdSense, another affiliate program available to many people. By far I can say most of my income comes from Google AdSense, but like all businesses and writing is one of them, it is not wise to put all your eggs in one basket. As you shouldn't write only on revenue sharing site you shouldn't use only one affiliate program for your income.
That is partly why I use the amazon affiliate program. This question is simple: how can you get the amazon affiliate program onto your hubpages account, but really with all of these answers there is always another question lurking in the background.
In this case, so once you have put in the correct code in the correct spot, then what should you expect in terms of money from the amazon affiliate program?
Making Money With Amazon
First, if you don't have an account with amazon, it is reasonably easy to get one, go to amazon.com and find "affiliate' program. From there it will ask you a lot of questions, such as website or what your website is about. Go to hubpages' FAQ to look up exactly what you need to type in, which is usually your profile URL.
Follow these instructions. Like applying for Google AdSense this is a must.
Then wait for a bit, it usually takes about a week, but you should get an email confirming that your application is being processed.
From there, you will get a amazon number or ID, you place it on hubpages and then begin to insert amazon capsules that you think will help you make some money. Be advise you don't get money if you buy your own books, so you really don't need to do this. You have to get other people to buy books from your hubs.
Follow These Dteps For Amazon
Now You have your amazon account code, the next step. Out it on the hubpages website, and you'll have your your money coming in... NOT SO FAST!
There are ways about Amazon. Amazon uses a performance scale when you sell your items. In other words sell more things, get more money, so if someone was to buy say 5 book you would get a certain percentage on each book. This is cumulative, so don't fear when you only really make 5 cents one month. It takes a lot of time to make money with this program if your content is considered evergreen.
Again there is something about amazon affiliate program look above for the first example, but I used keywords for this one "make money with amazon" I got how to make money getting a pilots licence. Not exactly what I wanted. After a few combinations, I put "make Money Online" and got these as choices. note that none of them are about Amazon, so It does take a bit of time to get the strategy right. However, this is choosing keywords, and not going directly to Amazon to get actual books.
In fact I doubt most people would have gone through six different combinations before giving up. Now this was simply using theamazon capsule and hitting search using keywords... So a bit of SEO Amazon style. This is a business so I thought like one.
Now if you look above, this is more like what I had envisioned. Remember I said that before using keywords I didn't get what i was looking for?
I went and did a bit of organic searching on amazon.com. There I simply typed in make money online using amazon.com. There I got nearly 100,00 search results. I decided to put ten up, in fact the ten which theyrecommended and also suggested as sets. I used the hubpages capsule and went to add a specific product.
So, how long did this take? About 20 minutes give or take. How long did the other method take about 10 minutes before i stopped. I might have found these books after a while, but the point is that it would have taken way too much time to do this.
I added the Kindle simply because two of the products are kindle e-books. Why e-books?
well, see most people will buy books or e-books i gave people choice. Choice is important when it comes to amazon and making money in this business. It is hard enough to get people to "See" the amazon books or products so make it worth their time to get them if they need them.
Again this is good business practice. Like Google AdSense, amazon truly needs to be optimized for you site. People will not buy say, socks if your hub is one writing. Have products which people might need.
So how long does it take to make money on amazon? Ah, that is a good question, If I lived in the US, I could say that yes I would have had a payout from amazon by now, but I don't.
See, in the US the level of payout is 10 dollars, now how long that takes is really up to you. If your products are focused and you follow the terms of service amazon gives, yes you can make money very quickly.
If you don't and have poor choices for products it will take a lot of time to make money with amazon. I have been here for 7 months and have not had a payout for amazon as yet, since the payout threshold for amazon outside the US is $100.00.
I feel I can succeed soon with amazon for three reasons:
1) I do keyword research on my amazon capsules in other words I go to amazon.com and type in some search I think others might try to look for.
2) I do link hubs, and I am now keeping my product amazon capsules to a minimum with the better selling products left there, as I have looked over my products sold in the last quarter or month and also over the year.
3) I pay attention with what my percentages are, for the first seven products you will only get four percent of the product total, which might mean ten cents, but after seven products sold this number increases. So you will need to focus on getting a lot of traffic to your websites to get the sort of buys you want. Please note that a click on a product link is not a buy rather it is more like the search engines.
This means you must consider click through rates when choising products. If you know one products sells best for you then you will need to focus on that product more. A personal recommendation is valued, but if it is a book, for example, you must have at least read some of the reviews of this product.
I think I can Make Money on Amazon...
See results without votingThe Amazon Affiliate program is like Google AdSense: linking outside of hubpages right away is a must, go to social networking sites, and to your blogs and link your hub there as soon as you publish your hub.
Like Google AdSense, you need to have the right keywords ( in this case specific products) to make money.
Like Google AdSense, momentum builds, and amazon has as many tips out there as google, but you need to find them, and work at it and that takes time and a bit of luck.
So, you will see success in amazon, but use recommendations from books you have read, and also learn about the ways to get good products on your hub. Most of all....
Link your hubs as soon as possible to outside sites.
To your success with amazon.

What is the minimum payout for amazon affiliates for non US member?
Thanks, this was really helpful!!
so...for those hubpages member let's join to amazon affiliate and google adsense, make your hubs as cash builder
Thank you for your hub. I still can not see how to register hub pages with my Amazon account.
Great hub! On hubs that were made for Amazon and not so much Adsense what is a good buy rate per 1000 impressions?
This is one of my favorite topics. Thanks for putting up such useful information :) and resources.
This is very useful. Thanks a lot!
how many got benefited with the affiliate program ?
I have never had a problem with the Amazon affiliate program. However, I would like to point something out.
Some states want to tax affiliate income directly. Amazon does not want the hassel of tracking all this so they don't support affiliate in those states.
That may be some of the reason for some affiliates not getting credit for sales.
Nice Information! Very Informative.
Nice article. My experience is you need to find the right product, and the range is quite different, compared to keywords in adsense. I go mostly with toys.
FYI - Residents of Colorado, North Carolina or Rhode Island are not eligible to participate in the Associates program.
I look forward to trying Amazon Affiliate...after reading all of these reviews it sure seems like I may not be successful but it would be worth signing up to try it out...Thanks for the info.
Thank you Rebecca. Good information that I can use.
Hi rebecca, I have set up my google adsense but with amazon where I have to link it with my hubpages account it says that the link failed on the link checker? I don't know what I'm supposed to put in there, I've tried heaps of things. Can you help me please?
I think the only way to make a decent income with amazon affiliate program is to get laser targeted traffic, ready to buy audience!
HEY CAN U PLZ TELL ME HOW I CAN INSERT AMAZON PRODUCT IN MY HUB?
hi am new to all of this and just got accpeted for the amazon program. Can i use there ads for all of my blogs or only one? and if thats the case do i have to keep reappyling?
thanks
great hub. Useful information. Thanks
Thanks, I was trying to figure out how to add the amazon capsule and make sure my ID number was some where. Still a bit confused on that one, but I will figure it out.
Great hub, looks like a good place for any new affiliate marketer to get the basics and get started on the right foot.
Thanks for sharing,
Nick
Those of us in North Carolina cannot even try the Amazon program. Thank you!
CANDLE, i equally had similar experience where i experienced sales transaction started and completed. At a point i got convinced that Amazon are simply cheat, but, it all changed the day i made my first sales.
I think what happened in the first sale is that the sale was made at the time hubpages code was placed in the hub.
Rebecca E, thanks for this wonderful tips.
Cheers!
Well worth the bookmark I just gave this hub!
Great info, thanks for writing it!! Have a Blessed Day!!
Like Mike, I havent had much success with Amazon. I have had plenty of clicks but not much in sales. I think the amazon cookie has gone against me:( Still onward and upward!
Amazon is by far the hardest affiliate program to use in my mind, as its TOS is always changing
My experience with the Amazon's Affiliate Program is similar to Pamela99's.
I have personal knowledge of the sale (initiation and completion of transaction), and my Associate Account is yet to be credited for the referral fee. Worst, it is not credited.
When confronted with proof and evidence, Amazon resorts to specious arguments to deny the referral fee, which prompted me to ask: Is Amazon's Affiliate Program A Scam?
I have bookmarked this page, but I have to admit Amazon is far more frustrating to me so far than AdSense. I've experimented with products, position, and various keywords with limited success. I'm not giving up though.....
Thanks again, your hubs are always so insightful.
Mike
my first order for amazon just on my first two weeks active in hubpages..now get 4$ earning from that
Thank you, Rebecca, for a good tip.
I need to figure out Amazon more too. But to be honest I see them on everyone hubs, but I dont click them or buy the books. Really dont have the luxery too as well. I try to find books though that have to do with what my article is about.Maybe I will try another approach. I have always wondered about Amazon so thank you for this article.
I'm starting to wonder if Amazon is cheating me. After getting 180 some clicks to my amazon ad in the last 10 days there wasn't one single sale. :( Man Amazon can be tough. My approach was probably all wrong too. Still 1 or 2 small sales would have made me happy.
I do much better with AdSense so far and I know I need to work on Amazon more. Great hub Rebecca, thanks for your efforts here. Thumbs up of course.
Great hub, but I do not use Amazon currently and probably won't. The payout just seems too low and hard to earn. I monetize my hubs with Google Adsense and outside affiliate/referral programs.
I am frustrated with Amazon - I have tried them here at HP and on my personal blog - I get plenty of clicks and have made one sale but that's it and i've been using them for almost a year. I've heard you can make money by doing product reviews but I don't like writing those so I maybe out of luck. Oh well!
Have had difficulty even knowing if the links are working; tried clicking on items and they eventually showed up; ten hits in several months is not a lot of traffic and no conversions; is this really REAL? I have more success with adsense--made $3.00 so far--wow!!
I have had very limited success with Amazon, but still believe in it! Have started doing text links in my new blog which is more writing/book related. Am hoping over time this will have an impact on my affiliate sales, but the blog is brand new so it will take time. (Doesn't everything!)
My experience is not very good so far. I put their products on every hub and when I want to check out if I earned a cent, I can't get into the accoutn. It states that my password is wrong. I emailed them time and times again but to no avail. I think, and I have read it from others, they mess it up purposely and they get the sale without having to pay. On my hub the affiliate account shows only the user name and not the account no like google. The same with ebay. I am tempted not to put it on anymore.
Good hub. I think the idea of incorporating Amazon links to a good hub is essential, to increase income potential.
Great tips Rebecca. You are a great teacher.
Good hub, Rebecca, and important thoughts. What you type in as keywords for Amazon products has everything to do with which products Amazon will suggest. The smartest thing to do is use the words the customers would use when searching for a specific product to advertise on your hub.
My experience has not been good with amazon. I try to pick appropriate items and on one hub I listed some fiction books. My mother ordered some on her computer and they tell me I have never had a sale. I watched her make the purchase and it wasn't on my computer so I don't know what there problem is but they apparently have no way to backtrack even though she had her receipt. Anyway, thanks for the hub.
My love...
I guess everything is a matter of attitude, dedication and patience. It´s not easy with meager traffic as Dohn says. However, I find this hub encouraging and quite helpful, baby! As always, you deliver! Rated up, Bookmarked and Stumbled!
Warmest teddy bear hugs, zillions of kisses, Love, Light and eternal heavenly blessings,
Yours eternal,
Your Sunshine,
Al
I run adds on some of my hubs from Amazon but have no way of knowing if they've done anything. I do not have an author webpage so that is a big handicap.
Ha! I laughed when you made mention of the fact that were it that you lived in the States, you would have made your payout already...I live in the States, joined Hub)ages a month before you and am literally only 3 cents away from making my first payout. Ahrggg! So no, it's not easy to make money with Amazon, especially with less than meager traffic! That's definitely key! Thanks for another great and helpful hub, Rebecca.
Thanks for the information on the affiliate program.
Thanks again for the reminder of how this all works. I've just been writing to be writing and keep forgetting about the affiliate program aspect.
Nice info Rebecca - thanks. I have had some success with Amazon on Hubpages. It is patchy, but you can still make sales. I seem to have sold mostly toys and shoes rather than books (so far).
On a blog, or on your own website, Amazon has got to be one of the easiest ways to make money online.
Good luck with your sales!
Very instructional...I like the way you explain things...I am already benefiting from your information...and will continue to read and follow you. rated up
Amazon doesn't allow affiliates from North Carolina any more, since the state started trying to collect taxes on business conducted via the Internet. Bummer!
