Fix It 202: Easy Ways To Increase Your Traffic! With Effort This Keeps Money For You
66Why Do You Need to Increae Traffic?
The fact is that you will need to do something about traffic if you hope to increase your earnings-- except that you might wonder why you need to increase your traffic in the first place. Traffic is coming to others, but as yet you do not see any sort of traffic coming to your blog and websites, worst still the traffic that comes, doesn't stay.
Traffic on the Internet is a fickle beast at best, newer and more interesting things will come to the surface, and you hub will drop, but still it is painful. You worked hard to write it, to publish it, to get traffic, to get on search engines and then nothing. There are some ways to fix it, but still hub traffic does come and go (just like money!)
Hubpages is like that as well, here today just another hubber tomorrow, so you panic you sit in front of the computer, you join the forums and still nothing. I hate to say but forums won't help you in the least. And they are addictive. If you aren't publishing hubs, you aren't going to get traffic.
Forums don't get traffic. They don't, and they never have, I know that goes against the grain but seriously, Raise your hands people how long are you on a forum once you are there? Do you go and visit other hubs because they are on a forum? They don't. everyone tends to read a hub and then comment but of course getting them back... well that's another story.
Increase Traffic-- Know the Life of traffic to Websites.
Traffic Come in Cycles... However: Yes I know traffic comes in cycles and we should be careful to recognize this, but at a point in time it drives on nuts. You can't get traffic from either hubpages or from other sources. I like to look at the traffic cycles on each hub before making a judgment to fix a hub.
I try to find where the most traffic comes from is it hubpages? Is it search engine traffic? Aocial networking traffic? Traffic via Google or teh other search engines?
For example: if you know that the traffic from a hub comes mainly from hubpages, then this cycle will be based on promotion of hubs. Properly done, and people will go through your hubs and read them. Not done well and you will find traffic spikes (this is not a bad thing mind you!) and long times when no one reads the hub, or comments or whatever. Remember that older hubs don't get as much traffic, but it might be steady.
To fix this and make some in roads begin adding links between your hubs, and add your hubs to your blogs and websites. Also add some of your favorite hubs to your profile, yes people do look at your profile. The most important is traffic is based on keywords, which is one of teh ways you are found on the Internet.
This keywords are important, so take some time on your computer and analyse what is the best keywords-- using a keyword tool is a good thing. This is basic SEO and most likely won't make you money but will possibly increase traffic. At some point traffic will make you something in terms of money.
Increase Traffic Fast: your Hub Score??
Yes Hub Scores Counts, But...:This is a fine line one, see if you have a high hub score (not your personal hub score) then chances are you'll have one of your hub featured on the front page of hubpages. I'd guess that this score is probably in the 90s but don't quote me on that!
I need to say this: For the love of everything good and right DO NOT EVER write a hub like text message. Never! there is no such thing and "u" or "ur" or anything like that in a hub. I personally hate reading hubs like that. Often you'll see that by fixing your hub to make it readable in the non texting language, people will spend more time on your hubs and you will have more traffic. Please do this. Thank-you for reading and for understanding that part. (Please notice how I did this.)
Still Traffic might be dying or non-existent, so what to do?
Edit, lengthen rewrite, look at the comments and content, and comment to other hubs. This will add a link to your profile on your name, and someone is bound to get curious and click on your name and look at your profile, which by the way has all your hubs on it somewhere.
As for linking, go to the share it button and begin from there, where you can quickly add a link to StumbleUpon or Diigg or other social networking sites, if you are active on them that add share it on these sites to increase the traffic to your blogs and websites.
Linking Increase traffic
Links and Other Things to Improve Your Traffic: Understand Something about linkings to your websites and to your blogs. These are also known as links. These are very simple to do, and because of this people tend to not use them-- they don't get long term traffic, which is why linking is an easy way to increase traffic.
Essentially this is one simple and important way to get traffic between your hubs and blogs. If you add a link to a hub of yours from a newer or a hub which has better traffic you'll get more traffic between hubs.
What does this mean to you?
Well, more traffic means more comments which means more fans (hopefully) and sometimes more clicks to make you money. This is all done by linking.
What else does linking do for you?
By adding a link it means that google will "see" your hub sooner. It's a simple way to promote your hub on search engines such as google. Beware of one thing, people (and google) will read good content, but if it's all links google (and people) doesn't like that either.
So off to work in fixing those hubs, good luck and to your publishing success.

Thanks Rebecca. I have managed to implement one of your ideas. I added a few links to some of my hubs to my profile page. You are a star. Voted up and useful.
Hi Rebecca E,
Very refreshing to read a hub that is clear and precise. Thank you.x
As a newbee this has helped me sort out where to focus. Rather than time on Forum debates, like you, I enjoy more giving encouraging comments. I've appreaciate yours and your Hub advice! This helped me also to have confidence in my preference to use my time in writing and commenting, with some linking to other Hubs. Your estimated rating of 60 or higher helps me not be so concerned about my ratings. Thanks bunches!
Hi Rebecca E. As always, another well done hub....without resorting to the "140 character" lingo that many seem to use.
While I know of some people who generate lots of traffic from the forums, I find I don't have time to participate. Like many others, I have found that it is just very time consuming, and can become confrontational. I'm all about encouraging, not much into arguing. However, there are many who love that sort of thing. The great thing about HubPages is that it is a community that allows for all kinds.
For me though, I'll stick to your process and read/comment on the hubs themsleves (for the most part). It also helps when others "share" in one form or other, the good ones. Another thing HubPages keeps improving, is their ways of doing just that. Yours are always worth sharing.
Great tips here! I am still struggling to get traffic to my hubs. I have been doing some backlinking to these hubs but I guess I need to give it more time. I definitely need to rework some hubs and finish up on others. Thanks for all the great advice!
As I am a little older, you did lose me for a bit talking about text messaging. Wasn't sure what you were talking about there for a minute. Guess my age is showing. :-(
As an abolitionist, I really want to get my hubs seen. Thanks for your help!
You make sense I've learnt quiet a bit from you. I am finding your hubs very usefull. Great hubbing!
Hey...really good valuable info...will try to stick to it...and yep all ur hubs are worth it...thanks for the tips....cheers.
Lots of useful advice. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Lots of quality content. I will now link to other relevant hubs and see what happens.
I always link to my other Hubs (if they are relevant to the topic) and noticed high Hubscores; also, evergreen content also helps me in the long run, too.
Good advice once again. Traffic can be fickle. I read your amazon affiliates hub and realized I wasn't adding any products to the ads. Silly me. Thanks for the great advice.
What in your experience is the best way to add new content to older hubs - anything that is decent ranked (>80) that I have done that do immediately gets knocked into mid 70s and says there. It almost makes me not want to update. Anything with a low score (50s) almost always benefits. And yes, the additions are original text I write directly into the editor, so there no way it is appearing elsewhere.
Very good read thanks Rebecca
Thank you Rebecca. I am a new hubber of just a few weeks and your information is wonderful. Thank you
hi
Thanks for putting this all together. Your hub is very easy to understand. Always trying to stay on track.
Most of my hub traffic is climbing overnight, simply because I put links to my other hubs on each one of my articles. I had no idea what a difference it would make.
What a good and well written hub.
Great advise! I'm off to add links to my favorite hubs on my profile - no idea why I didn't think of it LOL...Thank you!
So awesome! Thanks for the info!
Such an informative hub! Thanks for sharing this information!
Thanks, Rebecca. I don't go to the forums nearly as much as I used to nowadays. However, I am known to swing by occasionally just to say hello. Yes, you're right, the top Hubbers (look at the Best of the Best) aren't on the forums nearly as much as others. No, I'm not knocking others, just stating the facts. Those Top Hubbers are just too busy writing successful hubs! Great hub again, Rebecca :)
Good stuff. I'll probably be referencing this for a while...
Hey Rebecca, great advice as always. Back-linking really helps, I like to put my favorite authors on mine as a little plug for them too. I have been a bit busy lately, I am trying to catch up. I have taken too much on my plate right now.
