I Wonder how to Get an Account and (earn) Make Money From Google AdSense: Do you think I can/ Got a chance?
74Google AdSense... Getting an Account is Easy.
When a writer or a business person wants to make money they need to go into a partnership. For many people who work online, the Google AdSense Affiliate Program is one such partner. There are many views on this subject. This being the Internet after all, and many people want to make money online.
It is small and big... or big versus small. Some find using Google AdSense to be great and other find that it is simply a giant that holds the cards and doesn't help them. It is in my belief a polarizing topic.
For those who make money, this is a must, and for those who don't make money it leaves them wondering what happened. The question, was how to get a Google AdSense account. I'll go into details about that and why or why not you should get one.
Accoutn Easy... Making Money fast... Not So Easy
Getting an Account is the Easy Part: Now to clear up a few misconceptions on getting an account with Google AdSense. it is easy, but it becomes hard to keep it if you do these things.
1) It is easy just fill out the forms: Okay, yes, you need to fill out the forms but, you NEED to read the terms of service. Read Them! This takes time, but the little three page contract is a big one to making money with AdSense. If you read this Terms of Serivce for the Google AdSense affilaite prgram you will notice that there are many things you need to folllow, most of which are common sense.
2) I don't REALLY need to give out this info: Yes, you do, the address you give better be your address, because there is a little sheet of paper which comes after you make $10 that is you PIN (Personal Identification Number), if you don't put in that little PIN, after a while Google stops putting ads on your hubs and blogs and websites... or give you service announcements which don't make anyone money.
3) I should begin to make money right away...: Hands up who made $100 dollars on the first day? I said hands up please... what no hands? I rest my case. Okay who made $10 on the first day? See, not so easy. You will not make money fast with this program. You have to prove your worth to Google first.
No Money.. Then Is it Worth Getting a Google AdSense Account?
Then Why Should I Get an Account: Because you can potentially make money... that is why most people do get an account with Google AdSense. But getting an account is only on tiny part of making money. It gives you a potential to make money and to do it on more places then you'd expect.
It is similar to hubpages. I say this because really, many hub writers have the view that they write one hub, and then here comes the money, but that isn't the case. or at least it isn't the case that often. There are times that traffic comes very slowly and times when traffic is great. Yet,t hey are Internet marketers and are here to make money fast, and they use as many affiliate programs as they can to do this. They have all the knowledge that keyword research affords them, and also SEO. Then there are others who are here to write, and they get traffic... but then they wait for the money
And nothing happens, just traffic, which is not what you had in mind.
I'll give you a personal experience, I've been using Google AdSense as a part of my business plan and this has its ups and downs, and often it is a matter of luck. Some months I can write 100 blog posts, a more than a dozen hubs and ezinearticles and squidoo lenses. That month I make half of the month before, but then the next month I get half the traffic, but twice the money. Go figure.
There is one thing that most people forget: the Law of averages when signing up to Google AdSense or other affiliate programs such as amazon or ebay. Note Kontera was offered as a choice for an affilaite program, but it is no longer being offered.
KNow teh Google Law, and Learn to Improve
Google and the Law of Averages, think of this when you go and try to make money with AdSense: We all understand that everyone is here to make money and that the money if they get an AdSense account comes from the ads by Google. So before I go any farther I'll explain something for a payout to happen you need to have $100 US from clicks on ads by Google that have your publishers code on them.
Here is the important thing, the law of averages with Google AdSense: Of all the publishers who use Google AdSense (and follow the terms of service) only 25% get a monthly pay out of $100 dollars. So far... not so good. What This means is that if they was only 100 publishers who use Google AdSense, then only 25 would get a monthly payout. This does not mean you will get a payout each month.
But here is the important thing: Google carries the amounts from the months before until you get a payout. So even if you say make $5 in money one month, and $15 the next it will keep building until you get $100.
Just remember this: when you apply for Google AdSense, you are part of a huge group of writers, or bloggers, who are in the business to make a bit of money. Remember this law of averages, but also remember time and quality.
Get and Account... Improve and Increase Your Traffic and Then worry about Money
When I apply for Google AdSense what do I need?: First off the easy part, when you apply for a Google AdSense account you will need to give your personal information. The correct information, no changes to address because you don't want anyone to know it... you need to give it or when you get to $10 and then are being asked for a PIN and you don't have you won't be making anymore money.
A Website with content on it. If you don't have that a blog with several posts on it. (when I got my publishers ID almost two years ago, I needed to have at least a post, I believe that has changed. You need more posts, and better content.) Or for hubpages users a hub or two.
Why do you need this?
To prove that you in fact are a "publisher." This is why Google AdSense calls it a publisher ID. One other thing, you don't need a credit card, but at some point once you have your information and are about to receive a payment you need to give a few more pieces to help Google. (This would be your bank account information). It is in Google AdWords, where you might need to pay for having Google put ads out for you and your websites.
Simple So far, so Good?

One Final Thing:
Please read the terms of service carefully. It is about three pages long and is worth its weight in gold. This is where Most people begin to wonder if they are allowed to get an account, the terms of service are very clear. Content, G-rated material, and Proper linking to allowed sites.
Also don't expect to make a lot of money to begin with, that takes time and a bit of learning. The best book I can recommend is Google AdSense for Dummies. If you don't have it get it. I bought the book and I have learned a lot with it.
To your success on Google AdSense. Take time to learn and to also enjoy your Internet business, it will grow and it is your passion.

Great article. Very useful!
I still don't get this. I typed ways for teens to get money and i came to this, but i don't want to give out my personal information. Like my social security number. And i don't get how you receive money you make .
Love the info you have in this hub. Thanks for sharing how you're making Google Adsense work to your advantage. It sure takes a lot of hard work and there is something like a mystery factor in Google Adsense that we can't always figure how it would work out.
I know this might be a stupid question but once you have your affiliates code in for Amazon, ebay and AdSense. are they automatically added into your hubs?
Great Hub Rebecca. It's getting harder and harder to get in google. I think they are starting to get stricter with new adsense accounts.
What an informative and valuable hub. So much to learn. So grateful for all of your hubs. I save them all in my favorites. You have been a huge help to me. I thank you so much!
Thanks for the info Rebecca! Your article on how to make money at home was what brought me to Hubs. Never heard of it before, and now I'm signed up! Should be a fun learning experience. Great info, voting up!
Hey how are you?
I cant get a google adsense account. I have been writing blogs on Hubpages fro around a to weeks. What should I do?
Great hub I just wish I had read this when I first started writing on HubPages it would have saved me time and trouble. lol
The $100 point seems to be taking ages (I think it is £60 over here) however - it does work and the law of averages means you need to turn 10 sites into 100 or 100 into 1000!
Good quality information here, Rebecca, many thanks for enlightening us all.
Thanks for that info Rebecca you are so full of knowledge. Cheers.
Rebecca - I've ordered the Dummies Guide and also the Adsense Code by Joel Comm. The reviews on both say they are very basic but I think even if I can learn one thing that helps me increase my income it's worth it. My Adsense account is going but due to other business commitments I haven't Blogged as much as I'd have liked to. Still it's adding up nicely so it's definitely worth spending more time on it. What fun!
I am going to try adsense and see what happens. It is easily removed if it proves to be of no value.
Today is a great friend's first day with AdSense. I have been encouraging her to use AdSense. I am planning to write hubs here as well as use AdSense on my website and blogs.
Basic info but presented in a nice manner.
I think the hardest part about internet marketing is learning how all the various systems work. Also going through all those unpaid hours setting up accounts. I'm not just referring to Adsense but all the other ones too. You've got to have self discipline to do it, because it's boring! And then after setting it all up - you've got to learn how to tweak it for best advantage. This again involves a lot of time. I think that's why so many give up - and only a few stay the course.
I didn't know there was a Dummies Guide for Adsense - thanks for that - I think I'll get it.
Thanks, terrific hub.
AdSense is only profitable if you have substantial traffic.
First learn how to drive massive amounts of traffic to your site.
I have just signed with Google adSenss.
Wait for my own experience.
Google Adsense is a great add-on income. But it is hard to make a living off of it alone. Great as one of many internet things you have going..
Adsense can be an exceedingly simple way of making Google a lot of money, and consequently losing it your self. It is not always as targeted as other methods are, which can be a problem unless you have a very cheap keyword file and a very generic product to sell. Adwords is more targeted and more controllable. Be careful.
fantastic thank you very much Rebecca you have been a great help. im usless atm haha. im just learning all the stuff.
dont know if its a personal question but how much do u make from adsense atm be honest as i just wanted an idea of what il get haha.
