How People Find Your Hubs, on the Internet and Make You Money With AdSense, And Other Affiliate Programs
74What It Takes to Make Money Online
There are hundreds if not thousands of hubs written per day, and how does hubpages itself decide on the featured hub list? I believe it has to do with three things, traffic, keywords, and hub scores. These three work together to get you more recognition and more traffic and potentially more money, it after all a business where the best are found. We want to be found to make certain that we make money with our affiliate programs such as Google AdSense, Amazon and eBay.
So, what should you worry about beyond quality content, which is useful and easy to follow?
Keyword Research: I want to find you hub and if you choose a keyword that is too wide I'll find hundreds of others, along with yours, and too narrow and I might not think of it. I have found that a sort of two or three keyword group and a few one word is good for my audience.
I also think about what I'm writing and use the keyword search found on AdWords to help me, I don't use the money symbols at this point, but the traffic that each group of words has. Do this research before you publish your hub.
This will help your traffic...
HubPages Traffic: This is a biggie, you need traffic on your hub, be worried about a hub or for that matter any of your hubs if the traffic starts strong and then peters out. I found that for me if i was only getting a couple of people come in a day, it didn't help much to Google AdSense or Amazon or eBay. It is sort of like a blog, the better the traffic the more likely people will recommend it to others.
traffic needs to come from as many sources as you can find it, I use Stumble Upon quite a bit now that I've found how easy it is. I also try to make the title easy to type in on google. I think of hubpages and the keywords that go with it.
The only way to keep improving your traffic is by improving your hubs, by this I mean learn from your mistakes, you can always go back and fix a hub, but try not to. Still traffic is a great way to learn what is going on with a hub.
Even when things are going great, still question a drop in traffic, if you can't explain it, there is a problem.
Content and Keywords In Hubs: Now this is important, content is king and the keywords are a prince, as in write the hub then worry about your keywords. Often I find that if the focus is on keywords without a real reason why, then I don't read it, the content isn't there. Ask These questions "why would I read this hub?" "who will read this hub?"
If you want only your friends to read the hub, well, content still matters but not as much, but if you want an audience, it does. People will read and share it if it's good, and bad. Make them want to share it. (For those who are new, when you scroll down by the comment section, you'll see rate this blog and share it, If you hit share it, you'll find tons of options, I like to stumble upon my favorite hubs... not just my own!)

Improving Your Hubs: Yes, I understand that this might seem like a non issue but it is, if you dare to go back all the way back to my first hubs, you'll see a few rather sad facts, one I can't edit, and two I was still a novice, what that meant was I had no idea what to do with my writing and worst still didn't know how to fix it...
Sort of.
In this case I began to type my hubs and let them be for a while and go back and edit them. I also looked to the answers section of hub pages to read suggestions, and read other hub writers hubs
Three things: One, edit edit, edit and edit, there is a spell checker use it, and two read out your hub before you hit publish, as sometimes reading it out loud will expose the grammar. (still working on that one!) and three, word count, anything less than say 300 words isn't good.
Check out the best hubs and see why they are rated the way they are. Mimic them, but NEVER copy them. It will get you tossed out of hubpages.
Google AdSense: This is linked to traffic and content and hub scores, you can check what the hub is "worth" by looking under hub metrics in your stats. Take some time to look at it, aim for about three "$" the best is 5, but to begin with 3 is good. This doesn't mean that you'll make money, but it might be a bit more. But for many it's not as important as improving the hub, since the lower the score, the less chance you'll have at getting some money.
Think this way: Traffic, Content, Content, Content, Writing Well, Then Editing, then content, then keywords, then money.
To sum up there are ways to improve your hub score but it is up to you, the writing is important but your message is more so. People need to read it, and people need to be able to find it. This is a huge business, and you are living online with million of others.
To see success work on the details, and most importantly create great content, and then works with the rest.
To your success.
