What to Do Making Money with Google AdSense: Make Money, Write Well, and Create a Fine Hub (Because I Don't Understand)
77Making Money With Google AdSense
Content is King, write good content and you'll get traffic. Increase traffic and you'll make money. it is similar to saying "I know everything" and wondering why people don't read my hubs-- make me money. Also stop saying I don't understand Google AdSense. The problem isn't them-- it is your content.
I am writing about the Google AdSense affiliate program, not amazon or eBay affiliate programs. All of these can make you money online, and eventually you will get paid, but you will need time to do this. You need to have many quality well written "fine hubs." Otherwise, you will make money online-- but slowly.
I write, and as best I can edit my work. People tend to forget this when writing a hub, you only have one chance to make a good impression. As you gain more fans, and get more comments and make more hubs, the first impression is more valuable. It is in fact the only way to get more traffic, and make money and get more traffic and visitors.
When I began on hubpages I didn't write about making money or what to do with traffic on hubpages. I waited with my first hub about Google AdSense came after I had a few fans and my traffic was good. Good meaning I could expect the same number of people (Good is having in a 24 hour period 700 or more visitors. It can be done, and this way you will make money)
Traffic, Increasing Traffic and Branching Out With Hubs
Now that I have branched out a bit, people still wonder how can she? Or better yet why did she? Well, I dare you go back to my profile and look at some of my other hubs. Go on I'll wait. Can you see the problems?
For one thing they are short many of them about 300-500 words, for another, they are limited in audience, and time-- they are not evergreen content as some other hubs, they are fine hubs in their own right but they are not as fine as others. The content is good on them, and they will probably make money at some point, Still I like them and enjoyed writing them, but at some point I'll probably delete them.
They are not getting much traffic the way they are, and I really need to improve them to increase traffic and make money with them. After allif I have say 800 hundred hubs at some point I should make at least teh AdSense payout once a month. This is all about traffic, and increasing traffic. You need to improve your hubs... or else... delete them.
What delete them?
Yes, delete them, they aren't really all that good and frankly I write and am not opposed to killing my darlings as the saying goes. They also have no traffic and make very little money, so, I can delete and improve. I also say this that when I delete and improve I don't redo the old one, I make something along the same lines, but not the same one!-- only with great content and for a larger audience. In others words an evergreen content, which has better traffic potential.
it's not about the money but the quality, and still in this case the money is important I work as a writer and a poor hub looks badly upon me. So, to make money I need to trim and rewrite and redo. With care, and content and thought to the traffic and people coming to the hub, and leaving comments and clicks on links and ads.
So, how to do this, I go with this idea, if I'm the only one checking the hubs on occasion, or if after being a hub for three months the hubs simply gets no traffic I am certainly not going to make money, or very little money, correct?
Traffic and content are key. But good content and no traffic is a death sentence. This is why most people will say, I wrote a hub, but ( and this is important!) I got some traffic to begin with and then practically nothing! They write about the lack of people or comments. so we are also talking about backlinks and money ideas and google AdSense, and Google AdWords, and the potential to get more traffic. First you need to build links and get traffic and fast.
If you're getting practically nothing, look at the keywords or tags you've used. If that doesn't help within say, 7 days, then consider something drastic, like deleting the hub. The reason I suggest deleting is that with hubpages, right now, you can unpublished all you like, and fix it up but it won't help you in the end, it won't show up on recent hubactivity. Older hubs are ones which you should look into.
Hence, delete it. It's all about writing and rewriting, and in some cases starting all over again. With care of course. This is a bsuiness and sometimes with good linking you can make money again with an older hub.
Now, one more point of note about websites, you can delete and put your work on another website and this might be teh very thing to increase traffic, especially if you link it ot other sites you have written on.

Thank you for the informative Hub, Rebecca! In my limited time on HubPages, I've found, despite following some standard keyword and SEO practices, that sometimes there's little rhyme or reason as to why something ends up working.
Part of this I would correlate 100% to my relative inexperience, but I do believe, even for the experienced Hubber or Blogger, that intangibles come into play making what you thought might be an ordinary performer, extraordinary, and vice versa.
On the one hand, these intangibles can make earning online seem rather difficult, but it's also exciting in knowing that doing your best to write consistently good content can payoff dividends when it all comes together.
Lately I've been spending a lot of time editing and trying to improve the early Hubs I wrote. I'm still learning about links and promoting but I'm noticing an improvement in my daily views. You've given me some more clues here about proper tagging and now, back to work.
It seems like a ruthless idea, but 'delete and re-write' is similar, in a way, to getting rid of that old junk in the attic that, if it no longer serves a purpose, needs to be ditched. A very black and white hub. Thank you.
Again some great ideas, which one do you say help the most?
hiya, just to say some great ideas here. thanks a lot, and I have just web jumped from Redgage!, so I will give you a nice star for this! ha ha cheers nell
Great advice. There is great satisfaction when a writer's articles are read and appreciated.
Thanks for the tips on writing and editing.
Thank you for this hub. I think we are all a little two impatient. I have been hubbing only for a few months but it has taken time for traffic to build up and sometimes I get a number of hits for no discernable reason - ie I haven't done anything in particular to promote that hub, so I don't think it's wise to rush in and delete hubs, though tweaking hubs seems an excellent idea. thank you for your advice on keywords, I have not given them much thought to date.
This is the second time I read your hubpage, it gets better with time.
This is a good hub. I appreciate the information and it aids me in figuring out what to do and what not to do in trying to make money with hubs. I'm a newbie to all of this so it helps me a lot. I didn't realize going back to edit hubs after writing them would be a good option over a period of time. Will do. Thanks
This is some great information. I’m always looking for better ways to get my websites/blogs to show better in google.so nice
Great advice. Thanks
im looking to make some money, trying to get some initial traffic im sure is the biggest hurdle
well, i am here to see whats-up with the cash flow with my hubs
Excellent post! I really enjoyed reading it. I will be back for more!
Great Hub, I like it.
It wasn't personal. I read the whole hub, the comment was directed at others not your good self.
Peace . Shackle the ego . .
Very useful hub. I am starting out on this website, so all information is great help. Thanks
If you are doing this just for the money, methinks you are doing the wrong thing. I've just signed up for adsense, I didn't want to but I thought if I saw a £ on the floor I would pick it up but do I want adverts when I am an anti-capitalist caveman?. Dilemma, but skint and I thought others wouldn't even notice the moral quagmire I was wading through.
Do it is because you want to.
Words are meaningless in a world full of lies.
Very useful hub and great advise.
Thanks
Writing is an art and not everyone is perfect. If you like to write then the one secret is keep practicing and you will beat all your writing problems.
Eep! I don't think I can bear to delete any work I've done. I'd probably rewrite them instead.
Thanks for the great advice!
I glad u brought this up because i just started on here.
This is a great hub. I'm not really trying to make money on here, but I would enjoy some extra income ;-) I'm fairly new and only have two hubs, though.
7 days is too short to test the effectiveness. The search engines take time to index and display the result in search page.
Great article!!! Thanks for the info!! Iam having alot of trouble integrating an Amazon astore. Maybe a good topic to write about.
Sweetie, your the machine arn't you. So many comments too! Ouch. We are talking work here are we not? My girl Bill told me it was all fun and I would be an over night sensation? Wow for starters there is more people on this thing than any night club I have been to? I will have to think this one through a bit more. Thanks for the straight poop about hub pages. Pity you are up front on the list of writers though, my fantasy only lasted seconds. Sammie
Thanks for the good info. Just what a beginner like myself needs. Ed
Thank for the information. I have read a few articles and I am noticing that some people just type and publish without spell checking.
Thank for the information. I have read a few articles and I am noticing that some people just type and publish without spell checking.
Good tips and I'm going to look at my hubs and delete some as you suggested. Content is one thing but being able to manipulate the tags is something I've yet to master. Maybe, a hub on how to select effective tags? Thanks for sharing.
Great tips especially for a newbie like me.
Editing is evil. It doesn't like me. The feeling is mutual. I will burn the editor in effigy.
Just a thought.
Iv just started my first hub and am hoping that it will interest people. Now Im over thinking as to whether it is good enough to gain attention and how bad is my spelling really. Lol. Food for thought. Thanx
This hub is very informative and it has everything that I need to know. Content is King.. I couldn't agree more.
Great hub RebbecaE, actually sometimes we are in hurry to publish a hub without going through it to make changes and correction, you have said it all
Great hub. Good ideas. Thanks
I really enjoyed your hub.
Great Hub! I have some Hubs that aren't getting much traffic. I had thought about unpublishing and changing. Your idea about delete, rewrite and republish will work much better.
Rebecca E. an excellent hub mam. All the information along with the comments that are posted here makes it a perfect hub. It's hard to get traffic and fans. I have made 4 hubs till now and have got just around 50 and odd views out of which some are my own!
being frank sometimes after reading a nice hub with lots of comments i feel, aaahh! i wished i would have been the author of this hub lol :D. I know nothing comes easy. We need to work hard to make it come easy.
You're not going to make money because you are thick... there I've said it. How dare you?
Well I think we should support each other by clicking at least once on one of the google adverts that plague our screens, they get away with a lot of free exposure and I think its only right that you get some payment for letting them take up some space amongst your work.
I wouldn't recommend deleting a hub and starting over if you're going to write on the same topic. In my opinion, you are much better off editing and improving a hub.
I am a new comer and haven't written anything yet, plus, there are still aspects to HubPages I don't quite understand yet. So I would like to thank you for your tips and advice. With more advice like this, I'm sure I'll soon be on my way!
nice hub, bery interesting and open my mind....
thanks....
I felt i would earn through Google ad sense if i had enough page veiws but unfortunately over 1500 page views and all i have i 7 clicks totaling 1.15$
Hmmmm.... I've gotten several clicks on a hub that I would never have expected. Weird, huh? Boy, do I have a lot to learn.
Some clicks have come because I posted my hub's link on a forum that I frequent. You can't get by with this on just any forum, but this one is kind of loose and relaxed about such things. It would be nice if there were others like that around.
Nice hub. Thanks for your perspective.
Ads MUST match user intentions. Even if you have the worlds greatest content if it doesn't match the intentions of the user you won't get the clicks you need to make money. And Adsense is a tricky beast... too many exposures without clicks, too many ads on low quality sites, etc. And your whole score tanks and you are paid accordingly.
Thanks. Very useful and interesting. I am new to all this and need to learn the game to become a good player!
Thank you once again.
Thanks for this hub. It should help direct me down the right path with my strategy. First I now realise I need to pay a bit more significance to my tags...anyhow good work!
If you're only giving a Hub a week to perform, and then deciding to kill it, no wonder you're not making any money. Most Hubs haven't even started to reach their target audiences or the search engines by then. I wish you good luck utilizing that strategy, if that's truly your plan, but personally, I find that giving Hubs a few months to get going has paid off (literally) for me.
I've had a few that I wanted to delete, then rewrote a bit. I've read here that some advise to never delete, but if nobody reads it, why bother to keep it?
Why delete them? Unless you think no one will ever want to read them.
I've just joined up from Australia and haven't written anything yet but thought I'd say thanks for the advice I'll keep it in mind for when I do write something
.
The ending is the most important part. On autopilot an author writes quickly without thinking too much about it; they read it, edit ... "snip wordcount 10%" ("On Writing" Stephen King).
"Like bird hunting, an idea comes along, one aims, fires, retrieves and stuffs the idea in the game bag." ("Elements of Style," Strunk and White).
-Abe,
Ars longa, vita brevis
Great Article. God Bless You.
Kul hubpage! It's nicely written and organized. I hope these tips work for me.
Great hub! Nicely written advice. Thanks.
Thanks for the tips. I'm interested to read that you recommend writing longer hubs, because I've read some advice that shorter is sweeter and people don't have time to read anything long.
Well, I guess I'll never make money. I haven't the faintest clue how to get traffic. The more I read about it, the more confused I get.
A great, well paying hub definitely needs some work put into it.
Thanks for the general outline on how to make money on Hubpages. I just write and post on this site, not really concerned with making money with this particular site. Keep up the good work.
Great Hub Thanks for sharing...
Thanks for your tips!
Here is my comment. I joined tonight and have not written anything. I am just trying to find my way around this site.
it's hard for them to make money from google AdSense, this right.
when will i start making money i know the answer i have to stop being so lazy
Great post! I've never been one to "kill my darlings" because I've always heard that the more content, the better when it comes to Search Engine Authority, but you bring up a good point about readership, and when it comes right down to it... THAT's what matters.
Thank you for taking the time to teach me this needed information - I appreciate it and YOU! Have a JOY filled Thanksgiving!
Rebecca, By personal stats under my profile do you mean the score on my picture?
Hi Rebecca,
I have created few hubs, some are rich in contents and more informative. I feel two of my initial hubs are poor. i have written only 5 hubs so far. Do you advice me to retain those two hubs or delete them?
Please visit my hubs and advice me.
I like your content. You are a content king. New comers to internet can use your help and there are lot of them looking for people like you to help them. Extent your helping hand at this support forum: http://tinyurl.com/apsforum
Thanks for sharing. The 30 day 30 hub challenge is a great thing but for me it provoked me to go for the quantity and not quality content. I did far less editing and research in creating those hubs. I like your theory and have decided to change my strategy.
Great hub Rebecca. You know your stuff and your score of 100 prooves it! I will go back and check out my tags and study my visits to determine if I need to rewrite or delete. This hub was very helpful to a newbie like me. :)
Great tips for a starter like me. I have never realize that tags are so important to drive traffic to your hubs. From now on I will pay more attention to include relevant keywords to my articles. Thanks a lot, hope you will get more traffics with your hubs.
Wow, a 100 hubscore hub, I'm impressed. Really good info you have here. I've just recently deleted 6 hubs that were bringing in less than 1 average hit per day. It's hard to do but you're right, sometimes it just has to be done.
I have learned so much from just reading my fans' hubs. It is true that practice makes it perfect. I guess in this case is editing. Thanks for the great hub.
wow, thanks lot for your hub, very nice. Very helpful plenty to learn from. must re-write my hubs again
A good read, got me thinking more about my writing online.
Market the content too. I recently found the best IM blog I've ever come across, he doesn't market it and it seems it is not known to a lot of people because of it. Pity, he could make a lot more money if he did.
Your tip on changing your tabs before deleting is a good one. Relevant tags are very important! They may not bring in hoards of traffic but good tags bring in traffic that is likely to read and even click an add. I have gone back and looked at hubs that should be bringing in traffic but are not, noticed the tags were all over the place and not relevant. I deleted all the bad tags and did a little keyword research for some good ones to use instead. I have found having a core few really good tags has done wonders for my hub score and for attracting the right traffic even if its not in huge volume. Another thing that has really helped improve traffic and hub score is the summary text. The summary text is what people from search engines will see before visiting your hub, good summary text can help attract a visitor to your hub, good first pic and first paragraph should keep them on the site long enough to register a cool ad to click when they have finished reading :D
Great Hub. Good advise, so I'm going to work on it...
It just takes time to learn and improve like anything else. Great hub!
Great hub.I think there are two trends of hub topics-money making hubs and non-money making hubs.I found that if you wanna convert a visit in a click money making hubs need to provide a solution to the problem-that make people more interested to know more and eventually a click to google ads.
Interesting post about content is the king. thanks
I like the word 'trim'. A lot of my stuff ends up on the cutting room floor.
Love the detail you put into your writing Rebecca, you have a new fan.
Bob
At the rate I'm getting hits I'm lucky that I've just hit double figures!! Useful hub, thanks.
Very interesting, I'll keep this one for future reference.
This did make sense. Thanks for the great tips! :) I will keep this into account. :)
Thanks foe another great hub, I appreciate you. Blessings. creativeone59
Hi...very useful and interesting hub...I need to improve a lot.
Great hub
Love the stuff about delete and then rewrite. I'll be looking at that sort of thing for myself next month.
Thank you for writing this hub. I am new to hubpages and, while I seem to have gotten some decent traffic, I was not really sure what I should be striving for and how to achieve it. This hub was very helpfull.
I'd say that writing skills are king...I don't know if content is really the same, but thanks for a very informative hub, Rebecca!
Very awesome hub! I like this hub! It's has tons of wisdom that needs to help people out! THanks for sharing!
I'm big on write, edit and rewrite. I'm not here to make money, so the rest doesn't matter to me. I just want to keep improving my writing skills.
Great hub.I think there are two trends of hub topics-money making hubs and non-money making hubs.I found that if you wanna convert a visit in a click money making hubs need to provide a solution to the problem-that make people more interested to know more and eventually a click to google ads.
I was pleasantly surprised by my last hub, what started as a fluke piece of prose to vent some old feelings has turned into an actual moneymaking hub, that has so far had more hits in seven days then all my other 29 hubs have received over the past two months. Content is the key I guess and writing about something raw and relatable has opened a door and allowed a simple rant to take on a life of its own. Never underestimate the power of emotion in writing your hubs, if you can make people feel what you feel, you will reach them.
Thanks, a useful well written hub.
Edit, edit and edit some more! Never use ten words when you can do it better with five. I've already edited this comment three times.

iQwest-- it is always intangiables, but I also liken it to putting all my eggs into many baskets. So do your best and keep it up and something good will happen.
