To Increase Traffic Fast You Need to Add the Right Sort of Links to Your Writing

Increasing Traffic Online: Many Ways to Do This

Adding a link to a hub is easy. Adding several links to a hub is a bit harder. You need to increase traffic, and you need to do this with high quality links, which take time. You will use article directories and other means such as social networking sites, which are all pretty basic, and you need to do these.

This Is basic good business practice for anyone on hubpages. There is a good way to do it and a not so great way to do it. Linking correctly between hubs will help increase traffic to different hubs and increase the chances of making money. Linking from outside of one particular online writing site is crucial as well. You must first begin with a high quality hub-- also known as a fine hub.

Links also have another purpose. That is with making money and Google, more to the point Google AdSense. At first you might wonder why I would mention two things which do not seem related, but really having links and getting traffic is all part of a bigger picture.

You Need to have traffic to make money, and to increase traffic you need quality links.
You Need to have traffic to make money, and to increase traffic you need quality links.

Linking means Increase traffic

I have have 10 hubs.. why would I want links? They are doing just fine: Okay the first reason for adding links is two-fold one to increase traffic between these hubs and two if you get more traffic then you will usually see more money.

When putting in links it is best to put in links that related to the hub or online article you are writing. This provides the most potential to get people moving between hubs. So let's use the example of these 10 hubs, so 2 of them are about writing, one of them is about making money, three of them are about animals, one is about the environment and one is a product review of bracelets, one is on a current world event, and the last one is about Google and SEO.

Your newest one is about say, about the Internet and the way it drives people farther apart.

Now how would you link these hubs or at least one of your hubs to this new hub? it is simple in a way, but at the same time some find it hard.

Internet and Links and Focus For Increasing Traffic

In the case above, what makes the Internet Drive people apart, well sometimes it is writing and sometimes, it is because of what people are specifically looking for in your hubs. You have published a hub for a specific purpose and unless you want to be publishing hubs for the rest of your life, you need to think and to consider keyword research and also search engine optimization.

Still, for many people the writing that an online article has can make the difference of whether they will stay or go. So, in this case you could focus on how writing drives people apart, by misunderstandings or by what you focus on: making money fast at the expense of others.

This one has some leeway, I can focus the topic and say, that if the writing is bad, it will drive people away from you, and then add the two hubs on writing as links. On the other hand I can focus on the idea that because we have Internet our environments suffer. A link for the environment hub. this is taken in conjunction with the use of a keyword research tool such as Google AdWords or any other one out there. Again, you work with the information you want to give but also with what people will use as terms on the search engines.

So while you don't want to tailor the topic to make a link, you can fix the focus so that the link ends up being something that people might click on. This is the hardest way to do it, but if you have several hubs which don't interrelate, this is the simpler solution. This is also a way to increase traffic, when you focus a few good quality fine hubs and links them together and also link them from outside of hubpages.

Where to Begin?

The easiest way to add links to a new hub is to plan to write another hub with a topic that you have already written about. Taking the example above, you have many hubs on different topics which will probably not interrelate well, but let's say you are really knowledgeable about Google and Google AdSense and SEO.

Well, there are a number of people who would go through links to find some helpful answers to their questions on SEO and Google. In this case try writing a hub and then linking your Google hub to that new hub, and then...

Link the new hub to your older hub on Google. Then begin a process, that will interlink all your hubs. That is the first step, usually it takes about 20 hubs interlinked before linking makes a big difference, but you can speed up this process.

Good Linking will help get you traffic, but not always money: If you want to make money you need links and you need good links. There are at least three or four places that you can go to to get a few links for your hubs outside of hubpages which will help get traffic to you hub.

1) Social Networking Sites: Stumble Upon, Digg, FaceBook, and others that will help a lot. This will bring in traffic but of course for some this does not mean money. Still a link on these sites is a must.

2) Sites such as your blog or your websites: Put a link to some of your hubs on your blogs and websites. Better yet if you have a blog put it as a link on a post, this will create traffic from your blogs to your hubs, and if done correctly will increase traffic to all your hubs.

3) Sites Where you can add a link: e-zine articles is a good one, but also red gage and sites of the same nature. These will add links, but be advised that you'll need to keep a close eye on your content with these sites.

4) Email Signatures: I can't say how often people look at my email signature but I've used my blogs and my hubs below my name and it has made a difference in traffic. Not much but it is a link anyways.

Now these will not make you money, but will get your traffic and do look good on the search engines, so then the next step is easy.

I should Interlink my hubs

  • Yes
  • Yes, but i don't have the time
  • Maybe one day. It Doesn't seem important
  • No
See results without voting

Once you've decided upon a topic, see what links of your and others you can add to your link capsule. Use the keywords you are thinking of say increase traffic or writing or business. the search the hubs on hubpages to get an idea of what people have written but also what you have written on the topic.

You can focus on a particular hub you want others to look at and if it really does not "link" with your hub correctly you can also add a link capsule below the comment section which says something like " To read more hubs of mine...: and add some of the hubs you have.

It is always best to have several hubs on the same topic but these are a few ways you can drive traffic between your hubs.

To your success.

Don-- yes teh concept of 10 hubs has been mentioned a lot around here, a few hubbers will suggest that 30 interlinked hubs which have a common thread is the best for google. All of them seem to work great with teh social networking sites as well.

Rebecca, good Hub about interlinking. I really believe in the concept of writing a minimum of 3 Hubs, preferably about 10, on a similar topic and then linking. And then write on Hub which gives a summary. I think this summary Hub could be the most powerful one to link to the external sites such as Digg, etc. Linking really is fun!

JannyC profile image

JannyC 2 years ago

I can attest this does work. I had started to do this awhile back. In just reading Rebecca's hubs I caught onto this realizing in what she was doing. I not only read but study people's style too to learn a few things that can improve my own writing. We all learn from each other I say. I saw this trademark in her hubs and I saw the reasoning and it kind of made sense to me so I tried it mentioning my other hubs on the same topic that kind of fit together and I have noticed new people who see the new hub do go back and read the other hubs I listed in my new article. Not sure if it gave me money but it did boost traffic and I'm happy with that as well.
