We want to make money online, and we want to make it in a reasonable amount of time, now the question is can you make $1000 in a month writing on hubpages. For some they will say that it is possible to make $1000 per month on hubpages this gold standard money number. Other will say no, it is not possible. The voices of a business world.
This is a way to build your online business and there will be success and not so much success. Everyone will make money in their own time, but you need to have a drive to create that money. It is your business not your best friends or your buddy at work. If you want to make $1000 per month you will need to make money, and make money effectively.
Hubpages works the same way, you want to make money, you have to work at it, for a while you have to work very hard at it. Again this might mean you will make money say $1000 per month, but then again you might not. This is a business where a few things can help you build your money faster.
Can People See All of Your Fine Hubs? Or, is Your Profile too Long?
Want to make money: Look at your profile, it is one of the first places that people will look for information about you. Now, relache gave me this idea, and I tried it and it works so well that my traffic to my hubs increased by 150 hits per day by this one simple thing. A great business practice.
What I have done is updated my profile so that what appears on the screen is who I am my published books, and a few of my more popular hubs, so simply put, a few short paragraphs which means no scrolling down a page to find out about my more than 200 hubs.
People can now see my published hubs. My profile is now only half of the page on the screen and all six of my hubs can be seen below it. This increased my traffic. It is good for business, and I believe helped me make more money.
This change is vital in terms of making more money since people do a quick view of your pages, and if your profile, or rather what you offer in terms of your hubs ( which are your business) people will look elsewhere. At the same time, you will have to make your profile interesting and one which shows the best links to the best websites and blogs you have. You want to make people do something on your profile. Thins means clicking on a link.
Although I had to cut back on some "expanded" texts, I cut back on a few unneeded words, and that also improved my writing. So, if you want to make money, and get traffic to get to that $1000 per month, fix your profile!

Can Links Help you Make $1000?Now, for some, say like sunforged and Misha, who have in fact made $100 in one day, (read the hubpages blog or see their profiles for more info) If it is possible to make $100 a day, it is more than likely you can make $1000 a month in this business, but you will need to do some serious business work. Do you want to make money?
1) Understand that in this business you need to prove yourself. You have a reputation, and the way you expand this reputation is by building links. You put links in but you also need to have others help you build your business. Otherwise no matter how good we are Google and others will not care.
2) This is a business. If I can't find you.... The chances to make money (like the $1000 a month) are lowered. That is why you need links to your profile and your hubs. A comment adds a clean link to you profile... where I can find your work.
3) Content. No content or something short which means no $1000 a month. Now, this also includes product reviews. Good content means money. Making Money in this business means a hub with content.
4) You are your business, and if you use Google AdSense, and amazon and all these other affiliate programs and do not have a following or poor traffic. YOU will not make money on hubpages or other wise.

But I don't have time for all of that... it's just a hobby... but I do want to make money. Looking for a paradox? If you don't have time to build your business... or it is a hobby.
You will not make money online You might make pennies, but if you want to make even $100 a month, it means that you need to focus on links, and traffic and most importantly your online business.
We all work hard on what we love, the more you build your business the more likely you will make money. If you like what you are making be happy. Enjoy what you do, and the money will come but not as fast if you spent time building your business.
To make $1000 a month, you need traffic, and good traffic, and a whole lot of Google AdSense "sense" and other well placed affiliate programs so that your readers have choice. You are the one who helps Google AdSense with making your money by working with your content. A Hub is not a blog, but like a mini-website. You add links to build it up. The more links the more traffic, the more money from the affiliate programs.
This is a business, and the fact remains that without much search engine traffic you will have to work harder at producing quality content. If it is a hobby, and you do what you do to enjoy sharing money is some thing that is a bonus. this doesn`t work if you want $1000 a month. It is not a hobby if you make that sort of money.
The other thing you need to think about is keyword choices, some keywords seem to make "big" money where one click might make you 20 dollars, however, if you consider this, you will find that often the smaller keywords, which might not make that sort of money, will, if you target your traffic and build your business, make you more money and have a higher click-through rate than the "highest" paying keywords will.
Remember three things when deciding one your choice of topic and writing and adding the keywords to your hubs: Google does take a percentage from the AdWords numbers you might find, and then pays you afterwards. You also need to understand who you are competing against.

I Want to make money... or the last word: So, to recap, look at your profile either expand it a bit or shorten it, and then at your hubs you have. This means going back and creating a minimum word count for each of your published hubs. It also means editing them for any errors or outdated information.
Build your links to build your business. Comment and participate on hubpages and other online writing sites.
The begin to learn about keywords, and the best place is to look into the keywords research tools such as Google AdWords keyword tools, and many others. This also requires you to think and have a plan for your business and understand that it is not a hobby, but a true and long-term business.
While this is no guarantee that you will make money, by doing the little tings in this business you will at some point build up your work enough that $1000 is going to happen. It simply takes time, and dong the little things in this business. My guess is that it will happen in about 2 years, with good SEO and an understanding of how hubpages and websites work.
The other thing is to understand that planning for a month for $1000 and having only been writing for a month will also not be helpful to your business, as it does take a lot of knowledge of keywords and of SEO when you are making this sort of money. It is also important to know about changes that can be made to search engines. In many ways you can say it is all about thinking and growing rich.

Jo-- SEO is the techinical term for begin found by teh search engines. In other words, what you do with say a hub by adding links or by improving teh content will helpy our hub "get found" by teh search engines. this shouldn't be your main goal, but rather editing your work should be.

David-- yes 300 dollars is a great goal, and in fact i am one who would say to go for that one, but the question which was asked was if it was in dedd possible to make $1000 a month via hubpages.. or not... and in that i believe it is.
I think I should be making 100 dollars per month consistently soon. Made my first payout last month, getting close to second payout again.
I think 1000 is good, but we should set a goal of 300 dollars to 600 dollars first.
10/day = 300 dollars a month.

breakingnews-- I am of teh mindset that tragetted traffic isn't all it is, any traffic can make you money, it is your backlinks which get you traffic, and they will click on ads. Keep it simple.

Evidently the hubs to make money with are the "how to make money hubs". It's a science I know little about. I know one of the best writers here on the hubs keeps a score close to 80. That's MFB. Prolific. I like writing but it must be the most boring writing that makes the bucks. I'm not complaining. I just see. I appreciate your writing this. But-everybody can't write "this". I won't go to forums and I resent any hubs or hubbers being "penalized" by not going to forums. It is everything that I can do to visit other loyal hubbers. When I'm done visiting there is another list of hubbers who have just published. I will not get into the science of running by a hub and saying "Thanks for sharing". But, thanks for sharing!

What occurs to me having posted so very many backlinks is they are there on "front page" or the que for a day and then basically buried never to be seen again. I know people are not using scoop sites like they search wikipedia or the Internet in general. It's like everyone with a website goes there to deposit a backlink and vroom vroom: goo'bye! My website (according to the analytics on it) is what is making any (little) AdSense. Backlink sites that peeps see for ten seconds while they post their own backlinks, nah, nobody's reading a darn thing there!

this is the theory and it all right. Good job in writing and explaining...But! I t takes a long time and enrgy to reach 100$ a month for common mortal humans like us...+ you are missing all the part about SEO because it is with that part and infos that our personal blog will encrease traffic in a consistent way which is + clicks! You know by now, as I have told you, I am still a dummy with all this things, but you are teaching me slowly but surely, to take notice of the other benefits of being a hubber, other than the pleasure of writing.

Thanks Rebecca. Great info on linking and backlinking in the video. I kept my profile short out of vanity - like to see the articles. I had no idea it was better to do so in terms of $! I often wonder if it's necessary to maintain kind of a full time approach, or if consistent, effective part time effort over time would yield adequate results. Or if a flurry of activity, followed by a hibernation, then flurry again would result in lost momentum. Any thoughts on that? Thanks for another well written, informative hub Rebecca.
Nicely described dilemma. I find very difficult, almost impossible to earn that kind of money. But, again, I'm here only for 5 months and before that I haven't even heard about this kind of business.
So, it definitely takes time, experience and constant learning.
I'm still learning and trying to do my best to earn as much money as I could.
But, like you said, if you consider it as a business and full time job, your earnings will be higher. If it's a hobby or an opportunity to earn some money on the side, than one should be content with any extra income.

So far, I have not considered the idea of making money on the hub pages. My original goal was to use the hubpages as part of the process to build a platform and awareness for my book. I could survive on a grand a month, but from Hubpages I'm skeptical. If it has been done by others, I'll follow your advice and who knows. Just enjoying the journey is a good reason to continue.

Nicely said, good content is not much on it's own, you have to link to it and drive traffic to it with all your knowledge. Nothing comes as we want it to if we don't devote ourselves, this is business like you said, if we concentrate and make an effort it will come in time, we just have to work hard for it :)
Very true, no work no pay. My problem is I don't know all the little tricks to get the links that would drive traffic.

All very true,we have to put effort to get the ball rolling.But i think beginners should keep patience as the process is very slow initially to make money and keep on writing good hubs.
Great tips but people in general have found it very difficult to make money with hubpages. To be honest my main purpose for using hubpages isn't solely to make money so I'm not so hung up on the idea, but if it can really be used to create, a little income, why not?
I just started and have found how easy it is to make money with hubpages. I think it would be possible to do it as a hobby, write a hub a day, a really good hub a day,and you have over 350 hubs in a year. Spend some time editing and changing them to make about 25 cents a day, and you have 85 dollars a day... do you see where this is going. 25 cents a day for each hub for 30 days is over 2500 dollars a month.

I'm headed back to my profile. I'm my favorite topic, and I'm thinking I might oughta re work the old profile. It's not a money thing for me. Worse ... It's my newest challenge and obession. I've never written anything before meeting the Hub nation eight weeks ago, but I've received some great support, and I'm having a ball letting people hear those marbles rolling around in my head.

The profile page is perhaps an underrated resource. I have always kept my profile short, but never thought much about the advantages of a short description as a business tool. Your reminders that this is something to work hard at are always good and timely.

Thanks Rebecca for some very useful suggestions. I am due for my first payout but even that is slow-coming. So I really don't know about how much I'm making.
An excellent hub and I really enjoyed the video too. To me, the video information can be used as a general linking strategy that could be applied to a website, instead of HubPages, but, of course, HubPages is already receiving lots of traffic compared to a new website.
I also enjoy the reminder, in your writing, that, basically, one has to work hard to succeed at earning a decent income from online writing sites - or at HubPages - and that it should be considered a business.

vydyulashashi-- it is the content and your links, you have a good start but you need to build up a bit more. Go to Google and read the contract often the reason they say no is right there.

Robert-- simply keep on writing, and then editing to build some great hubs, there are a umber of people who do very fine jobs around here.
