Make Money: A Hubpages Experience Of Google AdSense and Some Fine Hubs

Another Day another question to answer: This one is asking about how to make money on hubpages. I can say that like any other business, and hubpages is one, there are only a few ways to make money. You have to have what can only be termed of as a fine hub.

Hubpages in fact is a bit easier to make money with, but in many other ways it is just as hard as any online business. I have some experience with hubpages, so I'll be writing about my hubpages experience, and with Google AdSense affilaite program, along with a bit of advice to help others in need.

Yes, you can make money with hubpages, but not with just hubpages. You need to think of writing as a business and hubpages is a part of that. It is similar to writing a blog, but not like writing a blog, so be prepared to be confused, and delighted and really, enjoy the writing experience, because otherwise this business will drive you nuts.

The first question I need to ask is what are your goals? Do you want to write and make money with hubpages? Do you love working four or five hours a day on getting traffic and the editing and linking?

Great, then hubpages is for you. At some point you will make money. Remember this is my experience so it won't be the same for everyone. It took me about 4 months before money came in at a steady rate that I could expect a pay out from hubpages every month or every two months. Remember this 4 months, but I also had about 50 hubs.

I began a few months ago, and started writing and, frankly not knowing what to expect. Still I think I was lucky, I looked around for about 3 days before I got my first hub published. Now, I still have that hub, and the publishing date on it is August 14,2009.

My goals at the time were simple, get people to read my writing. maybe make some money. I am glad to have the one person who still reads my hubs, comment on that very first one-- dohn121. Now, people if he ever comments on your hubs be sure to read his hubs. He is a writing guru.

The biggest thing I've learned is while everything you write is important the message you give is vital.

Writing is an art. So is your message. What do you want people to know? What will your writing do for them? In this business, if you really want to make money you'd better understand a few things.

--You will always critics. Some will comment on your hubs, and some will send an email to help you. Take them seriously, especially if they have a point. No, critics are not spam, they are a gift as well. In fact I am thankful to those who have helped me improve my writing.

-- Traffic is traffic, and some traffic is better than no traffic. Still the only way to get traffic is to link, and you need to do this. Some traffic will make you money. Some traffic is just that. Traffic. In my experience traffic from social networking sites is great, and should be encouraged. That being said, the "golden" traffic is the search engine traffic. This traffic often will make you money.

-- If you think your voice is out there... well it isn't. I can say this with a lot of certainly. Most people will not bother to look hard for you. That is your job, if you believe so strongly in your message you will do the work to get your message to others.

-- Links. You need links. You need links. You need to do this yourself, and look at your old hubs and do that with them. You want money? You want links. Links creates another way to get traffic. But you need to do this yourself.

Fine, you've said this before GIVE ME NUMBERS:

As you wish.. here are the numbers that are important. Traffic, Money, Where is comes From, What Makes me Money, My Thoughts....

Traffic: I now get 300-400 visitors a day. When i began I hovered around 50-100 visitors a day. In November of last year my traffic was 400-600 each day. Traffic for my hubs comes from hubpages, yahoo and google. Recently the social networking sites have been good to me as well.

Big thing about traffic, I am at the lower end of traffic, according to a few people when you hit about 600 visitors a day and you traffic comes from other sites beyond hubpages, your money will increase. For me proof of this came in November of last year.

Money: Most of my money comes from Google AdSense, but I also make money from amazon. These two seem to be the big money makers for me. But it is also the subjects I pick.

A note on money, I list all my hubs on Google AdSense as channels. My money comes from my writing, so that is my business.  If I do not write I don't make money.  when I write on writing topics, I make better money per click than I do with my make money hubs.  So be prepared.

Links:  This is where I found really helps traffic move around in my hubs.  For the most part People who read your hubs don't go to others hubs, unless they have links to them in the hub they are reading.

The biggest thing about links is that it looks better for the search engines, and often these work better than keywords or anything else.  As I increased my links between my hubs, more people went to older hubs.  Not just the top six in my profile

Three Big Experience points:

--Know what your likes and dislikes are. Don't follow the crowd. Everyone seems to want to write about say: religion, but the point is everyone wants to write about religion. You aren't going to make much money if you are simply a part of the crowd. if you want to make money with AdSense, and I am sure you do, have some evergreen content and also some other types of content to keep your traffic moving.

-- Success only comes to those who KEEP WRITING. Look, everyone sees me with more than 1,000 followers but what they don't understand is that most will leave if I stopped writing, or stopped blogging or something. If you only write one hub a week, you won't get to far to begin with. It takes work, case in point: My august 2009: I began publishing August 14th and by August 31st I had 11 hubs. Not every day but every other day.

-- Learn about hubpages, SEO, linking, Google, Keywords and anything else you believe will help you make money. Expect to be sitting for long hours. There is only one way to be successful.... work and determination.

Set personal goals, and focus, focus, focus. HUbpages will do for you what you put into it, not right away but at some point it will help. It takes time.
