Make Money Online: Ten Things that help with Google AdSense and Amazon Affiliate Programs
By Rebecca E.
Making Money Online?
If you are planning to begin to make money online, there are several things that can be said about the subject. One it is a business, except it's an online business, so the rules of business still apply. Some businesses will make money and some won't.
The reality: to begin to make money online, you need to take time to read up and learn about it. There is search engine optimization SEO, and then there is Google AdSense ( Correctly titled Google AdSense affiliate program). There are affiliate programs such as Amazon, and online writing sites. But you also need to know that one you hit the publish button you are a published author. This alone should make you pause and think.
There seems to be so much in making money online, but with the Internet the sky is certainly the limit. The first thing you need to do is publish a hub, or a blog or anything, and then work hard at promoting it. Publish, promote, and publish again.
1) Understand SEO: First do you know what SEO is? it's search engine optimization, which is how the search engines such as yahoo and google and other search engines find you. For now work with the largest which is google. The objective is to get your website making money, and to do this you need to be ranked high on the search engines based on keywords that people will type in. It's a bit of a knowledge type thing and a bit of luck. Beware of making to many sugestion about how to improve it, as it seems to change every few months.
The key to SEO is to think like any other searcher on the Internet. I add a search term to their writing, and then click ont eh website which seems to get them there with the best information. SEO, is therefore the way you get people to your work and that invoves thinking and using search terms properly within your websites and hubs.
2) Understand that AdWords and AdSense can help and hinder you: While I suggest going to google AdWords and looking at the types of keywords your website or hub or blog can give you, there is one thing you need to be careful with, estimated earnings. This means that the highest big is a certain number, an estimation, it doesn't mean you will make this much in the least. it is the top price someone will pay. Most usually don't.

3) This isn't passive income to begin with... if it was more people would make much more: Time and time again I read how someone with a website and a blog can make a lot of money for themselves. Either from google AdSense or from some other source. here are the numbers that for the most part are held true for all google AdSense:
25% of all users of Google AdSense and other Affiliate Programs make $100 per month on a regular basis. Again the rest of the numbers are as follows (this is the general consensus) of these 25% make $200 a month on a regular basis and of these 5% make about $10,000 a month, so basically, you'd better aim for 25% to begin with and go for $100 on a regular basis with google AdSense.
After that try to get this $100 payout each month which means about $4 per day and then go for $200 which is roughly $7 dollar per day. You'd better make these hubs good.. so only publish the best.
4) Not doing what needs to be done to make money online: Okay this is simple if you write a blog, you need to get traffic and you need to relax about it, there is amazon and eBay for some and for other Google AdSense and other pay-per click sites, so the sky is the limit with a blog. But you need traffic and you need to make it interesting. So content is king with a published online presence.
Same as writing articles online, for example some pay you via clicks on ads and some will pay per article you write. Know who does what. Learn the the ways you can make money with your work. Learn the ways you can't.
5) Understanding what can help you or not in social networking: On hubpages there is a things called "share it". If you push this link you'll find a number of choices, you can email a hub to friends so that they can read it, you can hit the Stumble Upon button telling other how much you like the site, and you can link it on your Facebook account. This helps because it's not only you who can do this, but all of your followers. The downside of course is that they might not like it and not do it, or say it's not good. For the most part i find that people who use these sites, give a bit of a review and a good rating for you hub. Cultivate this.
6) Content, but not ***content***: If you don't get traffic on a regular basis there is a problem, if you do get traffic on a regular basis to you published hubs this is good. It is the reader who likes or dislikes your hubs, and it does not matter how good you think it is, if there is no traffic, you just have content not ***content***.
What is the Most Important???
See results without votingInteraction and Publishing a Great Hub
7) Interaction: This one is so easy as to be forgotten, it doesn't matter how much you love your hub and how often people come if they aren't making comments, then there is something wrong. End of story. If you don't interact with others on your own hubs, well why should the reader? If it's a good hub the interaction will prove it. Simple. If you don't believe this go and see Duchess O'blunts or dohn 121 or RSMSN and read their hubs. Loads going one. it seems that their new hubs are based on the published comments by others.
8) Money is Still money, but publishing a great piece is better: So, let's talk, why are you publishing online? To make money? To be published? To teach? To be published with your own name on it? All I can say is this: money is still money but publishing is better. I Can't find better hubs than the ones who show the readers help and joy and a nice series of controversy, without personal attacks.
Money and Publishing
9) So you want to be published and make money? Link 'em up!: You can only link so many of your hubs and websites on your hubs before it's considered overly promotional but if you link all of these correctly you'll be able to harness the power of traffic to you. This means that if you write a new hub and publish it, this will help if you put the more recent ones on this new hub. Make it easy for others.
People do not want to go back and forth between your hubs, via a button on your profile, rather they want to find it on your hub itself in a link capsule. Linking is key to increasing traffic long-term.
10) Once you have published anything online, it's up to you and your reader to make money: You've done the writing you've published it. You've sent it to friends and to other social networking sites, and added links to your profile and blog, and your reader can as well, so encourage them to do this, go their hubs and tell them you've bookmarked it and stumbled it and everything else in between. This may not make much money, but you'll certainly have fun trying.
Money making with Google AdSense and amazon depend on traffic and this traffic depdns on you. Content is king, but if you do simple thing like these thing you have more of a chance to make money online.
There you have it, ten things that can help you make money online. Hope they help! what else would you add and why?

Thank you for good information!
If I make 2 cents, that's 2 cents I didn't have yesterday! Much needed money...
sdhaliwal-- your are welcome, thanks for the comment.
great advice.
FGual-- money will come, but hubs need to be written and have a high socre. Hubpages is pretty good thus far, still, it does take some time.
Great hub. You cover a lot here. I'm in the "show me the money" stage with HubPages. None so far, but I spend more time reading everyone's hubs than writing my own. Exploring other writing sites, but I like this the best.
Duchess-- Stumble and Dgii away, not only your hubs but others, as the more hubs out on Stumble and Digg the better. And you are so right it is easy to fix them.
It seems that I continue to learn. I so appreciate your hubs Rebecca, always something that I can take away and use.
You are the reason I Stumble and Digg and bookmark so much. You make it clear in your comments that you do the same.
Sometimes just reading that you have done that reminds me to go back and, at the very least, use the little green button to rate the hubs. I sometimes get caught up in the moment and forget to do that.
It's easy to fix thank goodness...I just go to "my account", click on "comments you have made" and one by one, go in and rate them. It's so easy and helpful
barryliam-- thanks for stoppin by and commenting, I hope this info helps you.
great info thanks! :D
peggypat-- thanks somuch. And good luck.
Great advice.. I will follow it!
2patricias-- I am glad to help you both, and sometimes what we need is that little extra reminder. Gald this helped you both.
Tammy Lochmann-- you are so right, the traffic from networking sites is very valuable, and can result in amazon boks and eBay buyers, and google AdSense (which I hope has been fixed for you)
Hello Rebecca, You've listed some new ideas, and also reminded us of some stuff that we knew really but could do more of - like link hubs.
Nicely written as well - thanks.
Hi Rebecca, as always great advice. I use the networking sites and they do give me traffic. I also link my home page to my blog. One thing that definitely works to get more traffic and comments is if someone comments on my hub I make sure to go and read one of their hubs and make a comment on theirs.
hello hello-- I'm glad to help others, and I'm glad you like this hub as well. Thanks for the comment.
Thank you, Rebecca, for your come back and your good advice.
Peter Dickinson-- you are most welcome, I try and that is the only thing i do =)
Bhawna Sharma-- thanks for the comment, but you have the idea as well. Keep it up.
Amber Allen-- many thanks, I hope this helps.
Thanks Rebecca. You are a whizz at pulling so much relevant and useful information together in one place.
You are not very old here, but you have learned things very fast. I wish I can be that fast to learn and to implement what you have told.
An ace hub with great info. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
loriamoore-- why that is the finest compliment I've read in a while, enjoy them and if you find they help, well feel free to read on!
pmccray-- always happy to be of service, and so pleased to read that you've bookmarked my hub.
creativeone59--- you are so welcome I am glad you bookmarked it. Hope it helps.
Rebecca,
I am seriously going to have to sit down, read all of your hubs and take notes so I can learn how to make money at this.
Lori A. Moore
Another great hub..bookmarked. Thanks so much for sharing
Thank you Rebecca E, you always have very interesting and informative hubs. I'm coping this one to keep for my benefit. Thank you for sharing. Godspeed. creativeone59
Mystique1957--- it's hard to say this is what is what.. but at the same time, if you don't know and your dreams are broken how can you help others?
There you go again, Becca!!! Great hub!
So informative and straight forward, no
euphemisms! Sometimes it sounds harsh but
hey, no reality first, no dreams later!
I agree with dohn121. You gotta keep on writing
or you`re as well as dead.
Interacting with other hubbers and your readers
is a key ingredient. Granted! How can people otherwise
know about you?
Another fuel boost for me!
Thanks a mill...
Keep up the wonderful work!
cameciob--- thanks so much, I am so glad to hear the success you're having with hubs and such, it is a real joy to have you here!
hynodude--- it is slow at times, but both have helped a lot, I liken it to a free backlink on the web. I also tell others I've done it for thier hubs, makes them feel good!
Hi Rebecca, I must admit your hubs keep me motivated and focused. I just took your numbers and did some math. I found out that based on my traffic (without doing any marketing) I would need to have 144 hubs to make $100 income/month. Which is better then I imagined! Thanks for posting.
Exactly, I begun using Digg and Stumble Upon and really I've seen the difference the same day, together with adding links to Wikipedia. You're really one of my benefactress. The only "bad" thing I've seen is that sometimes the Amazon's capsule disappears if I choose what to put there, when they have no more items I guess so I've had to use keywords for keep it going.
Thanks again.
Pamela99--- I am so glad you have use for these hubs. Thanks for the many comment and never give up you will find more success than you imagined.
hello hello--- you've got a lot of travel hubs and that just might be teh problem they are slower in getting traffic than others, but they are excellent, of course now I drool over going there.
hypnodude--- all the best on hubpages as I've always said to you, one of the best ways to have some success, is by backlinks and networking, Stumble Upon is great for that and so is facebook.
I appreciate your hubs and I am slowly learning more about the money aspect. My adsense account shows marked improvement but very little money, so I guess I'm not there yet.
I just started and not very clever on the computer. I am only to grateful to learn everything I can and thank you for yur hub.
I am a bit unhappy because I answer and comment every hub I find on my email. Yet I get so few hubbers visiting my hubs. Am I that bad? Or do people not want to spend the time and effort, and it is a lot of time and effort. How do I find out if it is my contents?
Another great useful hub Rebecca. I'm learning quite a lot from you. At least we can hope to make some money in the future following your advices. :)
juneaukid--- I know you will! you are a talent here.
Unchained Grace-- this one is for you I hope it helps you.
emievil-- haha there really isn't such a thing, as dohn pointed out as well, but we'd all like to think that sometimes.
dohn121-- off to the jet for you... one day at least! but excellent point about traffic.
Thanks for your new hub, Rebecca. I don't think I've made any money yet, but with your good advice, perhaps I will. Linkage seems to be the key.
Rebecca, you were one of the first who began to follow me when I started which was really only about a month ago. As I mentioned, money wasn't a big draw for me. It was and still is part of the vision God gave to me while homeless.
The income option? Well, I'm beginning to put more focus on it for the sake of the homeless people we house and feed. It is for them I will now be focused more on the financial aspect, though I will never start kicking out Hubs unless Jesus has brought them to me in the first place.
If I was a different person, I'd probably write a Hub on "How to Properly Load up a Watermelon with Jamaican Rum." and get thousands of pageviews. I do the best I can and if God chooses to bless me financially, then I can in turn help to buy food for our homeless. That's all I want.
This is a great list. I remember my first 'income' hub about passive income. I wrote ten ways but in the end, I said there's no such thing as passive income in the first place as you still need to work your butt off to get the money and the time to have your passive income. But some of my readers seem to ignore that and just look at those ways :).
Awesome hub, Rebecca! I agree with everything that you said. I especially like the point you made about the people who are actually making money online. I must admit, I still have much to do and learn before I get my first Gulfstream Jet, but rest assured, on I'm the right path!
One thing I'd like to add is to keep writing hubs. I find that if you go into a hiatus, people tend to forget about you and go elsewhere and Google starts to forget you as well in terms of page ranking. Fresh content and fresh new hubs are always a plus. Each of us should visit our own hubs at least once a day as every visit counts! Don't believe me? Just look at a dead hub's score plummet when there is no traffic.
I hope I helped by putting in my two-cents!
Thank you again, Rebecca.

Jalene-- that is a great way to go.
