I Make Money?: What You Have to Do With Writing, Hubpages and Money

This is question directly asked of me in terms of making money. Now this is going to be my experience about making money on hubpages. Really, I think that dohn121 will say the same thing. A lot of what we make in terms of Google AdSense is a matter of luck. It is a business and you want to make money, some times you want to make money fast. Remember that not everyone makes money, it is a bit of how to make money writing hubpages.

Making money is a big thing and it is a business of sorts where you need to think like a business, and you need to think promotion and writing useful content. With all that sometimes, yes luck happens and you can make things happen when you have goals, and a bit of fun. Making money is great but you have to love what you do.

Still, for the short answer: Yes I do make money, and I currently have 200 hubs, so I am happy to report that yes you can make money via hubpages. The one thing about this question is do I make money on my make money hubs?

Google AdSense and How To Hubs: Yes you can make some money on how to hubs about money. The biggest thing is that you probably will only make one or two cents at a time. My how to writing hubs and how to publishing hubs in terms of google AdSense revenue do far, far, better.  In fact writing how to hubs, (evergreen content) and writing and publishing are niche market so you'll need to really focus on getting links to them to make them work.

So for me I do how to make money hubs, because of two reasons: I want to help people and make them understand what it takes to make money with Google AdSense and amazon and the other affiliate programs. I also get more requests for them.

This is a business, and frankly I might get one or two clicks from my how to make money hubs BUT ( this is a big BUT) but I make more money with my publishing hubs and my writing hubs. The fact of the matter is no one asks me to write a how to writing hub. That is the nature of the business.

I will say I like dohn121's idea, that really it's the sign up in terms of how much money you will make per click. See, I suspect that more people will say sign up to a writing class website or get a book on how to publish as opposed to signing up for say how to make money.

If you don't make money on how to make money hubs , then why do you write them?: Now bear this in mind I never said I don't make money on these hubs, but I don't make as much per click as say my writing hubs. There is a big difference.

I get the traffic, anywhere between 200-450 visitors per day. I've found a few things out. One you need to make sure your hubs are linked together to get the traffic you want, frankly most people don't like to do this. Or don't have time. I know because a lot of new hubbers make this easily correctable mistake.

I also write how to make money hub simply because People send my requests for it. I am nearing 50 hub requests, and I would say in the last month about 10 of my last twenty were directed to me and were on making money or increasing traffic. 

But the point of this question which I am certain going to be asked is this: If I don't make money per say why do I write them, I can tell you this hubpages along with my writing blog is my main source of google AdSense income. I would also hazard to say that my how to hubs are slower in traffic, but are pretty steady in terms of revenue.

Still, Since in the past year I have received payout multiple times, I can say that my money hubs are a part of the reason why I have had payouts.  See, the visitors that come do click on ads, and if say you get 300 hits in one day it does add up.

So If I was to write a hub on how to make money, or a hub on making money online, does this mean I will make money with Google AdSense, or other affiliate programs?:

That is a good question, in fact I would say if you were to write one hub on how to make money and link it and promote it outside of hubpages, then yes you would be able to. For the most part people don't do that. Not that it is hard but that this is not a part of their business mentality.

When I say link between hubs and blogs and website you have,do this, I have traffic to many of my hubs simply because of a link on someone else's hub. It is the same idea as a blog. It takes time to get a blog up and running and not all blogs are created equal just as not all hubs are created equal.

On the other hand, having a couple of hubs on money or on Google means very little as the money niche is rather saturated. What can you tell people that they can't find elsewhere? See if you go with the basics you will get a lot of new traffic but your return traffic will decrease over time.

Not to say that you can't but most people look for something along the lines of get rich quick articles, which if you've read any of my hubs you'll know my thoughts.

At some point you will make money, but it won't happen overnight, this I can assure you. It also won't happen when you want it to. I can say from personal experience the hubs that are my money making hubs which do preform in terms of money and traffic are the ones with links outside on a blog or whatever. So interrelate the hubs are key.

The way you know how or why you have made money is by knowing several things:  One is SEO and how you can get organic traffic to your websites, and then it is also knowing a bit about keywords and using keyword research to write your website or blog or hubpages content.  The more you create the more traffic will increase over time, and this is how you make money with writing hubpages.

What I am really really looking for is a magic answer to hubs and making money: Quick answer, time.

Long answer: Link your hubs together, go on sites such as stumble upon and RedGage and Digg and Facebook and put links there, this will get you traffic, but not a lot of money.  What you are doing is linking internally and externally.  It is more important to use external links these days as they have more value.  You will need to get links, but look for quality links ans well as standard links (on the social networking sites.)

You blog needs to have a few links to your hubs somewhere. It helps to have a blog post about a hub you've written. Don't just write on hub on one subject and wish it would get traffic and money, it won't.

Go on to Google AdSense, and put each one of your hubs as a channel, this way you can see where you are getting your traffic and your money. This depending on how many hubs you have can take an hour or so.  it is important to know how much each hub gets in terms of traffic and also how much money it makes so that you can focus on your hubs and know which ones you can improve on.

Sit back and record observations. Which hubs get you traffic? Do these same hubs make you money? Do you know which does the best? Which ones should you promote? What makes traffic come to your hub?

Spend time with Google AdWords as well, learn about keywords and what people will do with them. Expect this to take anywhere between 70-250 hours depending on how much info you want. This is the only way. If there is a shortcut to learning about keywords and search engine traffic let me know.

Learn about SEO and the business of promoting yourself online. Write out a plan, and then do it.

Some Quick Stats about This Hub: This will be my One Hundred and Twenty-second hub. (122) and I write a hub about every other day.

I have Over 1000 followers, and on average get between 200-450 visitors a day between these hub, which is about 2 visits a hub, most of my hubs have someone read them everyday.  About 10% comment, and about 25% use the polls.

I comment back to the comments on my hubs, and when someone sends a request i comment on one of their hubs to tell them I've got their hub up.  I welcome requests, right now the requests are of hubpages and making money nature, but feel free to ask about writing as well.

As for money, yes I do make money on hubapges, since I began in August 2009, which is about $350.00 ( Can't say for sure as my numbers are rough in terms of September and August of 2009.  My first payout didn't happen until December of 2009.  ( For hubpages alone)

So there you go.  One other thing I also leave my hubs in draft form over a few days to make sure it sounds good.
