Can I Make Money With the Google AdSense Affiliate Program or Am I Dreaming?

Can I make money with AdSense? Better yet is the Google AdSense affiliate program for me? Can I make my ad sense? Google ads and money, and AdWords aside I'll give you my answer. After all it is an affiliate program with a lot of potenital.

Here is my answer,in the time I've been writing on hubpages and other websites, (the answer is yes you can make money on hubpages, with an affiliate program. It's not as much as say a lot of others but it is something which I can be pleased with. I am a writer by trade and I've made some mistakes, which delayed creating money for myself. I began to focus on google AdSense and search engine optimization in an effort to improve myself.

As some people on hubpages have said it takes time and I didn't hit my stride until, hub number 40. Remember: published, as you do need to publish a hub to make money. I made some money each month. I would say in my first three months I probably made about $30 from hubpages in the first three months.

If you do not put in good quality work, you are dreaming of making money fast.

That was August September and October, now remember that I have three blogs, and two of them also have AdSense on them, so I am only quoting what I got from hubpages. Then I got the hub that seemed to make it all worth while. In terms of money that is. I also began to think of this as a business. I began to link between hubs and more importantly on social networking sites and concentration on keyword research.

This was at the end of October, I felt confident, and I had the fan base to do this. Now this is important, in October, I began to get serious about money, and working on my websites and hubs, linking between them and adding them to social networking sites such as FaceBook, and learning from the others who offered suggestions and other advice.

Thsi was what I found about my hubs:

They were not so good. I don't really do to much on the forums, not because I don't have the time, but because my focus is my hubs. So I did exactly that. I began by looking at my hub metrics. and saw that for the most part my hubs only had 1 or 2 money signs. The more money signs you have on a hubs the better the ptential for money. I also didn't get much from google search egines or any other search engines for that matter. My SEO, as they say, was poor. So a bit of knowledge about Google AdSense and Google AdWords and Search engines, and a bit of time looking into my keywords or tags.

Then I began to link between my hubs to help increase traffic around with my hubs. That really helped me as well. More people would read one of my hubs and then click on a link to take them to another, so more like a business, more potential for making money. I should have thought of it sooner. Think like a business except that it is an online business. You want to make money online with Google AdSense?

Think like a business.

With a few changes, in terms of keywords, and editing hubs and linking between them, I saw that I had fewer clicks, but the difference was that the clicks I did get were worth a bit more, I also had a better click through rate. It;s still a work in progress but I did get a few books on the subject of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) which helped me understand a few more things. (If you don't have it, get google AdSense for dummies, it's a lifesaver!)

It was a November to remember.

The money came in, better than I expected, but more importantly, there were two others things which happened, traffic and fans. I hit the 500 mark for fans, and I want to thank all of them for their support. They made the difference not me! This increased both my traffic, but also I saw that it helped with my SEO rankings, and helped me see where my writing business was going, and making money was sure encouraging. I also think that by getting the search engine traffic I learned a bit more about online marketing in the process.

I also began to make a point of responding to comments on my hubs as much as I could, which increased traffic because people would return to make another comment, and a dialogue would follow. For those who want more traffic and more money this is important.  This is all improtant be interactive, if you don't your traffic and your money will die.

I hit $110.00 dollars from my hubs that month. It was pretty cool. I found that because many of my hubs link together, people will go from one to another. I also, gasp! deleted three that hadn't seen any visitors since I put them up. ( There wasn't a way to improve them, but they weren't test hubs just not that good!)

So that is how much I made, (Just over $150.00 over the four months on hubpages.) but I think that the important thing was that November I learned more about how to make a hub great and how to get people to go from one hub to another by linking them correctly. I also learned the value of knowing what needs to be done to make a hub something people will want to go to. Oh yes and that content is king, especially when getting search engine traffic from google or MSN or yahoo.

I did three things beginning at the end of October:

I didn't quit when I wanted to, I encouraged people to go to my blog and my hub by adding links on my blog and on my hubs. I kept working and reading Google AdSense for Dummies. I doubt without that book I'd have as much success as I did. Also again I added links and I improved the quality of my hubs-- I other words I followed advice of writing "fine hubs" and not just a decent hub

It was easy to read and simple to do what they suggested, and it is a book which even now I refer to often. I began to add links to my hubs-- all of them, and began to think of my work as a business.

I began to become more active on my own hubs, writing back, and reaching out to my fans on their hubs. (Duchess O'Blunt is awesome by the way!) and plugging people who deserve it, (dohn121, this is for you). I also would go to hubs, and comment on them as well. If it was really good I'd tell them and tell them it was stumbled Upon and bookmarked, which is where i get many of my links and traffic by the way!

The last was fixing up the hubs that could be fixed, and not publishing a hub everyday after a while, thereby giving people a chance to read more before I gave them more to read. Also linking between hubs is very important to traffic and Google, and SEO. This was a bit of basic online marketing again, and It increased traffic from the search engines as well, and most poeple know that my hubs aren't blogs.

It is these three things that make me believe that my December and onwards will really good, and I believe that by next December 2010, I'll be making $1000 per month. Wish me luck.
