Publish That Hub Already! That Way You Will... Make More Money
61So, Did you Publish a Hub to Make you Money?
In this business, and hubpages is a business you will need to make money. The thing is if you sit on a hub (which is okay to do... for a while) you will not make money. There is a little factor which makes you money, and that is publishing something for the world, the Internet world to see.
Hubpages is not a blog. It is more like a mini-website, where you will leave items alone for a year or more and will still get visitors. The key thing is that you can edit something and change it, so like a website, you still can do things to build up your work.
Then there is Google AdSense, and making money. These are important factors to why many people write hubs and build websites. What they forget is that on hubpages, you will need to think of how you are writing, and why you are writing what you are writing. Sure you can publish a hub, and make money, but if you want to make more money? publish another one and do some other key things such as seo and keyword research.
I've Published But I Want Money
Great did you publish something worth money? By this I mean do you think that ti will get traffic? Will it get views and more to the point search engine traffic?
Here are ten basic things to look for. Start with hubmetrics found on stats and go from there:
* That you hub is published. Now, aim for leaving you hub a day or two, but still get it published.
* Revenue potential is "$$$"
* Your keywords you choose are found in your content. Not overly pushing keywords but that you have them enough to make a difference.
* An important keyword is in your title. (if you hub is about making money... making money needs to be in the title)
* You have links between your hubs
* You have Google AdSense, or amazon or eBay
* You have done some keyword research. By this do not spend hours doing this so that you know but you have not published a hub. Keywords are vital but not at the expense of not publishing a hub!
* You have other hubs which can be published over the course of the next three weeks. These can be saved in draft format.
* You have followers, and are commenting on others hubs. Also known as interaction. Not over-promotion. (IE do not link to your hubs on your comments, or add referral links-- most hubbers will delete these as spam.)
* You have done some basic spell checks.

But, But I want to make money, and my profile should do right?
No, I do not care who you think you are, but no hubs and commenting on people's hubs is a bad thing. Putting something on your profile is important, but there is a fine art to your profile, a profile which goes on and on, is as bad as a short "hi hubpages."
The same holds true with a newly published hub, it should be a good lenght something that is worth looking at. You focus should be on the hub, the art of publishing at least a hub a week, and a good deal on learning about how and why things are not working the way you expect.
Write a hub, do the keyword research. In fact do a lot of keyword research. Make your hub sound useful, and easy to read. Then publish it. The fact is you will make money only when your hub is published and has affiliate programs on it (in this case Google AdSense, Amazon, eBay and Kontera)
This is a buiness and your writing is a business, which is why there are a lot of hubs which tell you time and again to take all aspects of your bsuiness seriously.
Increasing Traffic, Means Making Money, But a Part of That...
Is publishing that hub. You have got it, you have to publish a hub. Repeat after me: publish a hub. People want to make money, and when they publish a hub, there is a potential, a large potential that you will make money over time.
The trick is to increase traffic, and there are many ways to do this. When you are beginning your journey on hubpages, the best thing you can do is to.. (everybody yell) publish a hub.
The other ways are increasing domains where you have links, and then also increasing the number of links you have and then go back and fix keywords and titles. Title tuner is a must look at. This is a great way to increase hub traffic. On a side note, go to hubdefender and get an account.
Now, once you have published a hub, go and read a few hubs out there and write some good comment, no links to your hub. Next publish another hub. Then go and build some links, using the social networking sites as a start.

So I've Published a hub... But Nothing....
Increase traffic, and Make Money? Simple, but not so fast. Are you really taking care of your business or are you just pretending to do the steps so you can say that you did them and they didn't work?
This is the online world, and you need to think like a business, and do the steps which work for you again and again. Then do more than this. For a good example: Put your hubs, that you've published, on to the social networking sites. Then for good measure, on to She Told Me, Redgage, and Xomba. Then go on to the online writing directories, such as e-zine articles, go articles and others like it. This way some thing will work for you.
To make money you have to put in the effort to make money. No effort and you will not see results. People will forget about you after a while. Not to suggest you put all your eggs in one basket, but at the same time look at all your business parts and build on them. Publish that hub.
So. Publishing a Hub?
If I Publish a Hub I should Plan to Do So
See results without votingYou Mean to Say It's A Business?
Yes it is a business, and you have to be willing to work hard at your business to make money. A good step is learning about keywords. Another step is to write comments, and another step is social networking and using the search engines and learning about SEO (Search Engine Optimization) but the key to all of this is.... publish a hub.
Now, you will also need to learn that there is a time when you business will grow and that it does take work but a part of your job knowing when to publish your work. If you have 10 hubs and no followers this is not going to help you.
Build your business, and be seen on hubpages. But also publish a hub worth reading. Do not panic you can always edit later.
To your success.

You have suggested great ideas.

I've just published my first hub and look forward to many more. Thanks for the encouraging information about increasing money making potential writing hubs. I get it, Pub the hub..
It's hard coming up with stuff to write about.
We don't make much money on HubPages - partly because we don't publish nearly as much as you - but it is a great place for experimentation. However, the moral is the same - you will never figure out what works for you if you don't try out real stuff.
Just commenting on other people's Hubs is not good enough!
As usual, this is an enjoyable hub, and we've rated it up.
Ahh the problem of publishing or not. Personally, I publish right away. Sitting on a Hub to redo it is insane. You can edit anytime. Once a hub is done, get it out there. Very good advice Rebecca.
Thanks for the good advice. Always enjoy your work...
I always get valuable info on how to improve my hubs and increase traffic. Thank you very much. Keep up the good work.
Another great Hub Rebecca. I'll have to come back and read it again to go to all the links. Well done.
I'm up to $80 and only have $20 more to go. I'm getting there. Great hub.
In December I got my first $100.00 check from Google. It really felt GOOD! I've not been working my business lately - life situations shifted my focus. I will be back soon. This hub is so helpful .. you are a GREAT teacher!
