What Is So Wrong With My Fine Hub? I Think It is Great and I Should Make Money With It.

89

By Rebecca E.

Of Course I Can Make Money Online!

So, you think your hubs are great? Better yet, you KNOW that your fine hub is great. The only problem in your hubbing life is that you want to make a lot of money... correction you want money now, fast, easy -- something akin to get rich quick. You've tried everything, read every hub writer and tried to figure out things... and nothing. After all you've put the Google AdSense code in and then you got that amazon affiliate number... and it's a great hub.

If you are truly honest with yourself, the answer is no, you have not. There is always something to learn and always something new to find out about in this online business. Google AdSense is only going to make you money if you actually work at getting Google and other search engines to get you some traffic.

So, I am feeling rather generous, and I'll let you in on three ways I make money online. They are action based, so if you think it is fast and easy way to make money, well it will be after about a year or so! Again as the title suggests you need a fine hub in which to do this.

So, Buried in Details? or Buried in Complaints

So, Buried in Details? or Buried in Complaints

Traffic, Only One thing to Worry About?

For most people they worry about one version of traffic, and that is the not enough traffic. This is a problem, but when you increase traffic, and increase it to the point where you are getting money and comments and questions, this is an entirely different problem all together.

Now, you will need to go to your hub stats to do this. I have mentioned this method before, but I am going to extend it so you can try this and see the results. You will need to find your top ten highest hubs in terms of traffic.

Next, make a list of ten websites where you will write articles based upon these hubs. The idea is that you start with your highest hub, and then (in this example) write something for each of these sites, and then write another article in each of these sites. Do this with the next nine hubs.

When you are done, you will have twenty links to each of your top ten hubs, and there will be two links in each domain. This will over time increase traffic to these hubs, particularly if you have interlinked these hubs to one another. If you do this time and again with the same hubs and with this method, the traffic will come, but you need to be willing to do this often.

Google AdSense: Links are a Part of This

This has to do with copied hubs. Honestly, do not copy hubs ever. No, do not even think about it. If you think your hub is copied there are many ways to remedy this situation. Make certain your hubs have a "certain style" but that you also have knowledge of where your work might go. Links to your hubs are okay, but NEVER the copying of hubs.

Why am I so strong of this front? Google AdSense. Imagine your hub is copied by someone else, and you find that your hub is getting less traffic. To increase traffic you can add more links, or write more hubs, or you can get that copy off the net. In fact you should do all three of these suggestions. If you have followed the linking strategy

If your hubs is copied, there is more of a chance that you will lose revenue ( by this i mean money or income or a profit). Especially if this person had Google AdSense on their website. Use google search to check on your titles of your hubs, and also, use hubdefender, brought to you by one of our other hub writers. This will be time consuming but will increase traffic back to your hubs, and make you money in the long run.

This is also my reason for linking, the more lining you do, the more likely people will go to your work, and this defeats the others. Still, if you want to make money online, this is your business, so mind your business.

no copies
no copies
means a bit more money
means a bit more money

Okay no copied hubs... but what else?

Great no copied hubs, be vigilant. So now you have links, say to stumble upon, Digg, e-zine articles, article dashboard, redgage, and many others. Now you need a few more things to make your work seen on a regular basis. More hubs.

Some hubs will not get traffic, and some hubs will get ebbs and spikes of traffic and some hubs will get a lot of traffic. This whole traffic thing is important, but by now you are probably saying but I want to make money. I want to make money. I want to make money. Great.

You need content and you need traffic.  You also need one other thing and that is Search engine optimization, or more commonly known as SEO.  This is what gets you both an increase in traffic and money.

With SEO you begin to think about search engines such as Google, Bing or Yahoo and what they can do for you.  This means think a bit like a search engine.  While you do not have to go too deeply not the whole SEO craze, you should try to do some searches and see what is out there.  This way you might find a title or a keywords that you should use in your hub. This is an effective way to make money.

Money and Google and Hubs and Everything in Between

Three Things.. What is the Most Important?

  • Traffic
  • Copied Hubs
  • SEO and Learning it
  • None of them
  • All of them
See results without voting

Of these Three... what Makes Money?

Of these three things, what makes money for you?  All of them, and these three while on the surface seem to be "big picture things" I'll give  you some facts:  One once I began to do this linking strategy, my traffic on my top five hubs increased to the point where I can expect at least 20 visits to each top ten hub everyday. (so quick number: 20 X 10X 365= 73,000 visits each year)

Next, once I got my copied hubs off the Internet, my income increased by about $10 dollars a day.  For each hub that had stolen content-- there were several, this break down to about 50 cents a day per hub.  This is no small change long-term.  We are talking some very big money.  ( so putting this in perspective 10 times 365 days= $3650)

As for SEO, when I began to improve these hubs that could be improved, the traffic to these improved hubs increased by at least 8 visits a day.

Some real numbers, and some help to you.

To your success.

hello hello--that is hard, but I owuld suggest you go with yoru top ten and go to e-zine articles and article dashboard and article alley and write there, and add your links, and do it all over again. write and bookmark doesn't really work as well as going to these places, but it is only a part.

It is great to learn something everyday and I learned a lot from your great article. It is important for anyone attempting to earn money with Hubpages that work must be done, because it is not easy as your article points out.

Rebecca E. profile image

Rebecca E. Hub Author 17 months ago

allpurposehuru-- take teh owrds right out of my mouth byut that is the general idea, and yes that is what I do.

I haven't got into the article spinning yet, so it is a slower process, but I am increadiably pleased with my results. Still, I am looking mroe at my older hubs and that often makes a bit of difference. I also do this with my Squidoo lenses, and add them to Redgage and Stumble Upon and Digg.

Wikinut is a big one for me, while it is resonably new, it does get links and traffic.

Rebecca E. profile image

Rebecca E. Hub Author 17 months ago

pp-- I am referring to both, in fact I use about 6 articles directories and blogs of my own. So with that it is easy to get yoru domain links and to do this all over again.

Start with she told me, then redgage then off to e-zine articles, article dashboard, article alley and then your blogs, and then to Squidoo and wikinut and bukisa. After this, you can use xomba, and trinond, and many more.

Rebecca E. profile image

Rebecca E. Hub Author 17 months ago

okaymom-- this is simple and effective and very basic but it is time consuming as well.

Rebecca E. profile image

Rebecca E. Hub Author 17 months ago

viking-- this certainly isn't a get rich quick process, rather time and effort process.

Rebecca E. profile image

Rebecca E. Hub Author 17 months ago

Dolores-- this method works well and you can redo it more than once, espcially on your blogs or on e-zine articles or other online writing sites.

Rebecca E. profile image

Rebecca E. Hub Author 17 months ago

simoen-- promotion is key, no promotion, no money, so build up a plan and then go from there.

Rebecca E. profile image

Rebecca E. Hub Author 17 months ago

prairieprincess, let me guess and then we'll see what Rebecca answers: There are other article writing sites that like long, substantial articles like HubPages (including Squidoo, InfoBarrel, Factoidz). There are other sites where you can post shorter summaries (including Triond, Associated Content, Snipsly, Seekyt, Xomba, TheInfoMine). There are still more that are strictly bookmarking sites (RedGage, InfoPirate, Page360). You can get paid some way or another from all of these sites and other similar ones. If you have blogs, you can either start with a hub or a blogpost and use the same techniques. Article directories like Ezine or ArticlesBase won't pay you, but they get a lot of traffic. You can supply a teaser and link to your hub and get some of that traffic to follow the link.

In other words, she's suggesting we write other articles all over the place and from there back to the hub. You can also start with Squidoo or similar and use a hub to link back to that site in the same way.

I can testify that it's a lot of work. I finally broke down and got article spinning software. So far, I have only sent the results to article directories and the second-tier revenue sites. If I use it with a hub, I will first write a shorter summary and spin that. Then if I spin the hub for one of the other places I put fairly long articles, I will make sure that each version has some uniquely different information. So I might delete two or three paragraphs corresponding to the hub and supply some different information in its place.

I have also spent some time with my worst performing hubs, trying to find combinations of key words that will boost search engine traffic. Alas, a couple of weeks later, the hub scores have gone up, but none of them have gotten any search engine traffic.

On the other hand, I have found some phrases that I can use for series titles that already show up on the first page of Google. They're all fairly new, but getting decent traffic right away. I've been working at this for more than a year now and barely making pocket change, but I think I'm beginning to learn how to make everything work together.

Hmm. This is almost long enough to be the start of a hub. When I start making some real money, I'll start writing about it. Back to you, Rebecca, and thanks for ringing changes on the same important points so consistently.
